This vacancy is for an Apprentice Metal Fabricator (Fabrication & Welding) based in Rishton, Blackburn.
The broad purpose of the occupation is to carry out metal fabrication work using things such as rolled steel joists, columns, channels, steel plate and metal sheet etc
An exciting opportunity to train as a fabricator/welder, working as part of a highly skilled, diverse team engaged in the manufacture of a wide range of stainless and mild steel equipment. Manufacturing large scale thermal processing and heat transfer equipment for our sister companies Tek Dry and Hunt Heat Exchangers is at the heart of what we do and I am pleased to announce we were recently aquired by the global company Heat and Control we recently became part of the global Heat and Control group.
Roles & responsibilities:

Measuring & Marking: Accurately measure, cut, and shape raw materials using workshop tools and machinery.

Welding Techniques: Learn various welding processes (such as MIG, MAG, TIG) to join heavy-duty and light metal parts securely.

Reading Drawings: Interpret technical and engineering drawings to understand project specifications.

Fabrication Duties: Assist in the assembly and fitting of fabricated structures and steelwork.

Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets strict industry standards and tolerances.

Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly adhere to safety regulations.
Training to be provided
The apprentice will be working towards completing the Metal Fabricator Standard which will include the following:?

L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

L3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
