We’re offering a fantastic opportunity for you to become our next Apprentice Electrician. You’ll earn whilst you learn and gain practical, hands-on experience whilst studying for a Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship.
Let’s not get our wires crossed, we’ll need you to have a strong work ethic and be resilient as this won’t be a ‘quick fix’ or a ‘walk in the spark’ (walk in the park, get it?!). We want you to be in it for the long haul - you’ll need to be willing to stick with your apprenticeship which could last up to 5 years. Plus, if you work hard and pass your apprenticeship you’ll be offered a permanent job at the end of your apprenticeship and have a fantastic career with whg.
Main job responsibilities:
- You be required to assist the Electrical Team in a wide range of electrical duties such as installation, maintenance, testing and inspection.
- You’ll work both in empty and tenanted properties and be expected to deliver excellent customer service whilst working efficiently and ensuring all legislative and Health & Safety requirements are met.
- You’ll be expected to diligently complete all associated paperwork and follow risk assessments and method statements and assist in ordering materials from stores.
- You’ll use a handheld device and a range of IT systems to receive and complete all elements of works.
- You’ll be expected to attend college as required and complete any associated course work and successfully complete a Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A commitment to undertaking a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
- A Grade 4 or above in Maths and English (Level 2 / GCSE grade c or above, or equivalent – or predicted to have) or be willing to undertake Level 2 Maths and English functional skills alongside your apprenticeship.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use a range of IT systems.
- A strong work ethic, the ability to work well under pressure and balance the demands of study and work, and the ability to use your own initiative but also to take feedback and listen.
