Appointment of Houseparent for the Boys' House
Overview
The School is looking to recruit an outstanding houseparent.
We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated individual with significant experience in the boarding sector, who will dedicate their working hours to the care of the boys in the biggest Prep boarding school in Scotland.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding ability to communicate with children, their parents and staff team members, an enthusiastic and caring attitude and the ability to engage in a warm and supportive way with everyone involved in the wellbeing of the boys and throughout the School.
They will think and care deeply about the boarding environment in a changing world, live up to the School’s core values of Courage, Courtesy and Creativity and embody the image of the 'Lifelong Companion': they should act as a role model for the children in their care.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the School, a passion for working with children and high standards of professional practice. They will become a member of The Institute of Boarding (TIOB) and receive CPD accordingly.

Interview process
Applications will be assessed against the information provided in this document. Longlisted candidates will be invited to attend a longlist interview which will be held remotely. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend an interview held at Belhaven.

Overseas Police check
Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for more than 3 months in the past 10 years will be required to provide a police check from their country/countries of residence.
