The Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival is looking for volunteers

Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival is the UK’s festival of experimental film and artists’ moving image and the flagship event of Alchemy Film & Arts.

The sixteenth edition will take place in Hawick from 30 April to 3 May 2026.

Volunteers range from those with existing technical or hospitality expertise, to students developing their skills and experience of cultural events, to those looking for new challenges and to meet new people.

Depending on shift length and role, volunteers will receive access to film screenings, free meals, relevant training, and reimbursement of travel expenses within the Scottish Borders, including any Borders Buses service between Edinburgh and Carlisle.

Volunteers are welcome to commit to anything from a single shift to the whole festival – it’s up to you!
