Our volunteers play a vital role in making cricket welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. From supporting beginner-friendly sessions and community events to celebrating heritage and creating safe spaces for women and young people, volunteers help build confidence, connection, and opportunity through cricket.

No prior cricket experience is required just enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for community engagement. Volunteers will support session delivery, welcome participants, assist with events, and help strengthen links between cricket and local communities.

By volunteering, you’ll help break down barriers to participation, celebrate cultural diversity, and inspire a lasting love of the game

Role Purpose:


To support trust-building, listening, and celebration of Black cricket heritage through culturally meaningful engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome attendees and support inclusive, respectful spaces
  • Assist with event logistics, registration, and facilitation support
  • Support storytelling, heritage activities, and intergenerational dialogue
  • Help capture feedback, insights, and community voices

Skills & Experience (Desirable):

  • Strong listening skills and cultural awareness
  • Experience in community engagement or lived experience within Black communities (desirable)
  • Ability to support safe, inclusive conversations
  • Organised and reliable

Volunteer Impact:

Builds trust, ensures community voices are heard, and helps shape more culturally relevant cricket programmes.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, and committed to working with their community and local community groups to inspire, support, and help organise fun, inclusive events and activities that engage people and bring communities together through cricket.

They will be comfortable welcoming participants from diverse backgrounds, encouraging confidence and participation, and supporting safe, positive environments for women, young people, and underrepresented groups. No formal cricket experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
