CPD is offered regularly at no or low cost. This post required an enhanced DBS check Job Role and Purpose As part of the Adult Service Team at CLEAR you will be supporting survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence to heal and flourish after trauma. Abuse may have occurred at any point in a survivors life. You will work on a sessional, self-employed basis to provide 1-2-1 trauma informed counselling to individuals who have been referred to CLEAR. You will provide a safe, confidential and supportive space for clients. You will draw on a foundation of Person-centred Counselling and also be able to integrate knowledge and understanding of the impact of trauma, trauma stabilisation and/or other therapeutic models such as trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Key attributes You will be a skilled, person-centred and trauma-informed counsellor with a thorough understanding of Safeguarding principles and procedures. You will be registered with a professional body such as the BACP and be able to demonstrate your commitment to continued professional development. You will be experienced in working with adults harmed by sexual abuse and relational trauma. You will be organised, competent in the use of IT, able to follow policies and procedures and keep up to date with emails and other forms of communication Key Responsibilities • Provide individual therapeutic counselling to CLEAR clients, delivering a high standard of counselling, working to the BACP Ethical Framework • Conduct assessments to ascertain client’s experiences, identify risk and support any additional needs • Organise and prepare venues for face-to-face work or through video or telephone appointments as agreed with client and Clinical Lead • Ensure client confidentiality, contracting, relevant safeguarding and risk assessments are completed in a timely manner, reviewing and updating as required • Ensure compliance with CLEAR’s policies and procedures, including the use of Routine Outcome Measures and record keeping on our bespoke database • Proactively engage in monthly group supervision (funded by CLEAR) in addition to your own 1-2-1 private supervision • Maintain your professional registration and demonstrate commitment to your own professional development and wellbeing, pro-actively engaging in CLEAR Service Days and training opportunities • Build good relations with individuals, groups and external agencies that may need to be informed of or involved in the delivery of CLEAR work • Ensure that monthly invoices are submitted accurately and on time • Any other duties that may be reasonably requested in order to deliver the role Person Specification: Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Essential Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Professional Registration and a current CPD log Professional and recognised qualification either at Degree or Diploma level in a particular therapeutic modality Desirable Recent CPD in trauma-informed practice Familiarity with the BACP Ethical Framework Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Specific Trauma Focused CBT training (TF-CBT) Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy Integrative Therapeutic Style At least 2 years experience of working with adults harmed by sexual abuse and sexual violence A thorough knowledge of and up to date Safeguarding training (adults and children) At least 2 years experience of working with a wide-range of mental health concerns.
