The School

Churcher’s College is an Independent coeducational day school offering Nursery, Junior, Senior and Sixth Form education. With 1055 pupils in the Senior School and 285 pupils in the Junior School (excluding the Nursery) of approximately equal numbers of boys and girls, Churcher’s College enjoys recognition as one of the most accomplished independent, coeducational day schools in the country.

The school is hosted on two campus sites in Hampshire enabling the Junior School and Nursery pupils to flourish in their own beautiful grounds in Liphook, whilst maintaining close links to the Senior School and Sixth Form located in nearby Petersfield. The Role

We are seeking an organised, personable, and detail-oriented Admissions Registrar to join our team. This is a key role within the school, responsible for overseeing the admissions process and ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for prospective pupils and their families.

The Admissions Registrar plays an important role in marketing Churcher’s College Senior School, assisting the Headmaster in the organisation and administration of admissions to the school, primarily at 11+, 13+ and 16+. This role is often the first point of contact for parents with the School and therefore a successful applicant will already possess excellent communication skills and telephone manner, with strong administration and IT skills.

Key responsibilities

Admissions

Handling enquiries from prospective parents, both by email and telephone.

Organise all Senior School Open Mornings, Afternoons and Evenings, New Parents’ Evenings, Induction Days; meeting and welcoming prospective parents and children at these events.

Distribution of admissions material to prospective parents and feeder schools.

Building relationships with prospective parents and feeder schools, throughout the admissions process and attend future schools events at feeder schools.

Organise, schedule and facilitate candidate interviews, tours and assessments.

Liaise with academic and pastoral staff regarding assessments, offers, and pupil placements.

Arrange and oversee organisation of the Entrance Examinations with the Academic Registrar.

Administer the registration process for new pupils and deliver accurate and timely inputting of admission data to iSAMS.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date pupil records and admissions data and produce reports as required by the Headmaster and other senior staff from the school database.

Administer correspondence with prospective parents/feeder schools through the 11+, 13+, 16+ entrance process.

Play an active role in the PR and Marketing of the school working closely with the Marketing Team.

Work effectively with the Data & Systems Administator and the Admissions Administrator to maximise the efficiency of the admissions process.

Occasional ad hoc duties to support the school at the request of the Headmaster.

Skills and Experience

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Experience with database systems, preferably with iSAMS or equivalent (training in iSAMS can be provided).

A good understanding of the day-to-day operations of an Independent School would be advantageous.

Proven organisational skills, ability to multitask and prioritise.

Strong administrative ability combined with well-developed interpersonal skills.

An appreciation of the importance of processing confidential information and working with respect for data protection.

Ability to relate and communicate appropriately to both parents and pupils. Previous experience in admissions, or a customer-facing role (experience in an independent school is desirable).

Attendance at the Entrance Examinations and on Open Days and Evenings and feeder school events is required as part of normal duties.

Employment Terms

Location: Churcher’s College Senior School, Ramshill, Petersfield, GU31 4AS

Hours: This is a Full-Time position (37.5 hours per week). Hours of work would be 9am – 5pm or equivalent with ½ hour for lunch.

Pay: Competitive salary depending on experience. The children of staff are eligible for a fee remission subject to satisfying the usual entry requirements.

Start date: 1 September 2026

Vetting/recruitment: As a consequence of the Children Act 2006 and KCSIE 2025, all staff appointed to positions at Churcher’s College must undergo a check with the Disclosure & Barring Service. A copy of the School’s Recruitment, Selection and Disclosure Policy and Procedure is available on the website. Two written references will be required and any gaps in employment records will be investigated.

It is also necessary for all staff to notify the school before the appointment of any convictions, or other factors which may be relevant to their employment in a school environment.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
