Shaftesbury is a disability charity offering care, education, vocational and rehab services. The charity also provides residential care, nursing and supported living.
Within the education sector, Shaftesbury has one school, Shaftesbury Victoria School, and 2 further education colleges, Shaftesbury Millie College and Shaftesbury Nash College. The school is for students aged 3-19, and the colleges are for students aged 16-25. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as well as physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and some have profound and complex learning needs.

Shaftesbury Millie College is an education setting for students, aged 16 to 25yrs, and helps young people with a range of learning and physical disabilities in Dorset, and the local area, bridging the gap between education and employment.
It is a one-of-a-kind work environment, set on a 350-acre countryside site near Poole. The college’s curriculum is directly aligned to its natural environment and the enterprise activities that operate there, including animal care, catering and retail, conservation and horticulture.
Students are supported with personalised learning programmes which build confidence and independence, underpinned by a focus on wellbeing.

About the Role
We are looking for a professional administrator to provide efficient and effective clerical support to the admissions and admin team. This pivotal role will ensure the smooth-running of the admissions process from initial consultation through to student enrolment and their transition into the College.
You will be responsible for providing high quality administrative services in support of the College admissions process together with maintaining information databases, assisting with the production of college documentation, scheduling meetings and supporting the admin team covering reception.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the College’s growing team of professional administrators who provide the critical link between staff, students, parent/carers, Local Authority SEND Teams and other external professionals.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, proficient in O365 and have a genuine passion for accurate and detailed administrative processes. You will need a calm and adaptable approach and a willingness to learn, contribute ideas and undertake further training, as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include: providing administrative support ensuring the smooth-running of the provision; support the team by covering some reception duties; assisting with all admissions and EHCP related activities; maintaining a variety of information databases; acting as a first point of contact; responding to verbal and written enquiries; creating and maintaining electronic filing systems.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent MS Office skills and other information management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting.
Prior experience in administrative support, preferably in an educational or healthcare environment.
