Our Vacancy
We’re looking for an organised and empathetic part-time Administration Assistant to support our Handyperson Team in delivering essential services to vulnerable tenants and community members. This is a key role where you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, enabling frontline teams to focus on those who need support most. You’ll be a vital point of contact for customers, providing a professional, reassuring, and efficient service.
About You
You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and confident communicating with a wide range of people, including vulnerable customers. You take pride in staying organised and delivering a high-quality service while working both independently and as part of a team.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the first point of contact, handling enquiries via phone and email with professionalism and empathy
- Schedule appointments and coordinate operatives’ diaries effectively
- Maintain accurate records and ensure systems are kept up to date
- Manage invoices and support financial administration processes
- Log jobs, track progress, and ensure all requests are followed through
- Provide general administrative support, including document preparation and ordering supplies
What You’ll Need
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above or equivalent)
- Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills
- Good IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with a confident telephone manner
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive working relationships
- Understanding of confidentiality and a commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals
Desirable Criteria
- ECDL or similar IT qualification
- Experience within housing, care, or support services
- Experience supporting budget monitoring or financial tracking
This is a hybrid role working 21 hours per week, with at least 2 days onsite and the remaining hours worked from home.
