Roles and responsibilities specific to this post

Working as part of an admin team you will be responsible for ensuring the administrative support to the Nuneaton Children and Family Centre's is provided in an efficient and effective manner.

The post holder will mainly be based at the Camphill Children and Family Centre, but the role may also include regular work at other locations in Nuneaton e.g. Riversley Park Children and Family Centre. The location of work will be subject to service needs: to be able to travel to any of the Nuneaton Children and Family Centres is therefore a requirement of the role. For these reasons access to your own transport may be desirable but not essential.

The regular work pattern for this part-time post will generally be over 4 days between the hours of 8.30am-5pm, Mon - Fri. With a requirement to work at least one Saturday a month. Flexibility to occasionally work evenings would also be desirable but not essential.

You will work as part of a dedicated, professional, and friendly team to help improved outcomes for children and families. This is a busy and varied role, and our admin team are the first point of contact in our Centre's.

  • Do you have a warm and welcoming manner? Can you be empathetic?
  • Can you communicate clearly, confidently, and respectfully with members of the public and professionals alike?
  • Do you have good attention to detail? Could you input information accurately and efficiently?
  • Can you work with care to ensure personal information is kept confidential?
  • Do you have good IT skills? Experience of creating posters, leaflets, desktop publishing, or experience of managing social media are also desirable.

If this sounds like you, we would really like to hear from you. We are looking to appoint a person who has admin or reception duty experience but will also consider candidates who can demonstrate they have the skills and knowledge to fulfil the role.

We know that our colleagues go above and beyond in delivering our vital work, driven by their passion and commitment to Barnardo's values.  We also know that we can only realise our ambitions and achieve better outcomes for more children, thanks to the talent, hard work and creativity of our people.

For all these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to pay and reward, to ensure it is fair, attractive and progressive, which was rolled out in April 2023. This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.  More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
