ADDITIONAL SUPPORT CHILDCARE WORKER
Out of School Club – North Edinburgh
8.5 hours per week | Mon/Wed/Thu, 2:40–5:30pm | Term Time (38 weeks)
Hourly rate: National Minimum Wage (age/qualification bar applies)
North Edinburgh Childcare is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join our well‑established Out of School Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life while working within a supportive, experienced staff team.
🌟 About the Role
The successful candidate will provide one‑to‑one support for a school‑aged child with recognised additional support needs, helping them participate fully in our busy, vibrant Out of School Club. You’ll work closely with colleagues to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and thrive.
🌱 What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who brings:-
- Strong communication skills
- Empathy, patience and resilience
- A genuine enthusiasm for children’s learning and development
- A willingness to learn, participate and engage in a wide range of activities
- An understanding of how to support children with additional needs (an ASN qualification is desirable but not essential)
Applicants must have — or be willing to work towards — the relevant childcare qualification required for a childcare‑facing role.
✔️ Eligibility Requirements
All applicants must be able to:
- Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at Practitioner level
- Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
- Work in the UK and provide the necessary documentation
