MeCycle is an exciting and dynamic social enterprise run by Autism Ventures, part of Autism Initiatives, a national charity with its Head Office in Bootle. MeCycle receives donated bicycles and refurbish them. The renovated bikes are then sold to encourage cycling and to help people get to and from work. If refurbishment is not possible working parts are reused.
To meet with high demand for quality refurbished bikes and to increase the range of cycle accessories and new bikes we stock, we are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing Additional Mechanic to help us achieve our ambitions.
Cycle Mechanic
Ainsdale, Merseyside
Salary: £13.08 per hour
Hours: As & When Required
The enterprise offers supported work placements for young autistic people in bike maintenance and other work skills. All profits from our activities are invested back into the enterprise so we can offer greater opportunities to even more people develop the shop and cafe and broaden the range of services offered to cyclists on Merseyside.
You will have good knowledge of cycling and cycle maintenance, ideally within a retail setting and be approachable and outgoing in nature.
This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) cost which are met by Autism Initiatives.
We're looking for someone with a knack for excellent communication and a passion for providing outstanding customer service. Flexibility is key, as you'll need to be available for evenings and weekends.
