    We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic

    Activities Assistant & Minibus Driverto join our team for a 6‑month maternity cover role. This position plays a key part in supporting older people (50+) in our community to stay connected, active, and engaged.About the Role

    Working closely with the Centre Manager and Activities Coordinator, you will help plan, prepare, and deliver a range of activities, groups, and workshops that support wellbeing, social interaction, and confidence.

    A key part of your role will be

    driving the centre’s minibus, safely transporting clients to and from the centre so they can attend activities. This means you’ll be one of the first friendly faces they see on arrival—and that matters to us.What You’ll Do
    • Support with planning and delivering activities that meet the needs of local older people
    • Help run sessions with warmth, energy, and professionalism
    • Work alongside volunteers and offer support where needed
    • Drive the centre’s minibus to collect and return clients safely
    • Record attendance, feedback and outcomes
    • Support with risk assessments, safeguarding, and accurate record keeping
    • Provide assistance in other areas including the coffee shop/kitchen and general admin
    • Promote the centre and its activities at community events
    • Welcome visitors with kindness and a focus on creating positive experiences
    About You

    You will be someone who enjoys supporting people, working in a varied environment, and bringing positivity to each day. You will have:

    • A full driving licence (essential)
    • Experience working in a fast‑paced or people‑focused role
    • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging personality
    • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
    • A genuine empathy for older people and a passion for community support
