Active Communities Instructor
We are recruiting an Active Communities Instructor to deliver safe, enjoyable, and engaging exercise classes within our Active Communities team. You will provide participants with encouragement, support, and guidance to help them work toward and achieve their fitness goals. As part of the outreach programme this role will be located around various locations around Tonbridge and Malling.
In this role, you will deliver 12‑week structured programmes focusing on progressive balance and strength sessions designed to improve stability, coordination, body strength, and overall functional fitness. Sessions will also include falls prevention education, offering practical advice and signposting to local health services where appropriate.
We are looking for someone who can confidently lead inclusive, motivating sessions and who is passionate about promoting the physical, mental, and social benefits of exercise across the community.
The ideal candidate will have:
•A minimum of Level 2 Exercise to Music, Fitness Instructor or Group Exercise qualification.
•Experience delivering exercise or sports sessions, specifically for older adults.
•Ideally, experience in falls prevention and chair-based exercise.
•Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to adapt sessions for different needs and abilities.
Additional desirable qualifications include Level 3 Exercise Referral, Postural Stability and Falls Prevention training, and First Aid.
