Accounts Apprentice

This vacancy is for an Apprentice Accounts/Finance Assistant based in Accrington.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience within the accounts department whilst gaining on the job qualifications.

The role overview.

As an Accounts Apprentice, you will support the finance team with basic bookkeeping, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.

You will use accounting software QuickBooks, while gaining hands-on experience and completing relevant training.

This role offers a strong introduction to finance and the opportunity to develop essential skills within a supportive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping Support: Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including accurate data entry and the maintenance of up-to-date financial records.

  • Accounts Payable: Support the accounts payable process by verifying invoices, processing payments, and ensuring supplier information is accurately recorded.

  • Accounts Receivable: Support the accounts receivable process by raising invoice, and ensuring customer information is accurately recorded.

  • Accounting Systems: Utilise accounting software QuickBooks, and other relevant tools to manage and update financial information.

  • Payroll: Support the payroll process by collating information and data input to company templates.

  • Staff Expenses : Support the expense process by collating information and data input to company templates where required.

  • Financial Reporting: Help prepare financial reports, claims and support basic month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial updates.

  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training to build knowledge of core accounting principles, procedures, and best practices.

  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members on various tasks and projects, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.

Key Qualities:

  • A genuine interest in building a career in accounting or finance.

Training to be provided

AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting which contains:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping

  • Principles of Bookkeeping

  • Principles of Costing

  • The Business Environment
