Academy Rehabilitation Physiotherapist (U15–U21)
Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an Academy Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to support its academy medical operations primarily based at Clayton Wood Training Ground.
Reporting to the Academy Manager and the Academy Medical Lead you will be responsible for leading and delivering an elite rehabilitation service to players within the U15–U21 age groups, ensuring player health, wellbeing and optimal return to performance across the Academy.
You will support the Academy Medical Lead with the ongoing development and implementation of the rehabilitation philosophy. This will include performance planning, injury management protocols and return to play monitoring and management.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing and delivering gym and pitch based rehabilitation for long term injured U15-U21 players.
- Facilitating smooth transitions between rehabilitation stages and support staff.
- Contributing to data driven player development plans by collecting and organising KPIs.
- Assisting with injury audits across all Academy age groups.
- Providing clinical assessments and diagnoses for injured players as directed.
- Collaborating with age group physiotherapists and supporting the Academy Medical Lead.
- Conducting comprehensive screening programs for U18 and U21 squads.
- Maintaining ongoing professional development and contributing to in house CPD.
- Attending medical consultations for Academy players where appropriate.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience in assessing and diagnosing MSK conditions in young athletes.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver successful athlete rehabilitation.
- Strong understanding of GPS utilisation in late stage rehabilitation.
- Experience with manual therapy in performance medicine.
- HCPC, CSP, and ATMMiF (or equivalent) registration.
- Excellent IT skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Experience in a sporting environment is desirable.
- Full, clean driving licence is desirable.
