1:1 Part-time Lower School Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a lower school student at ACS International School Cobham from August 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young person’s educational experience by providing personalised academic and pastoral support.
The Role
Working on a one-to-one basis, you will support the student throughout each school morning, helping them access the curriculum, remain engaged in lessons, and develop confidence and independence. You will work closely with teaching staff, the Learning Support team, and parents to ensure the student receives the support they need to thrive.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 12:30pm
Term time only
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one support across a range of curriculum subjects.
Encourage focus, engagement, organisation, and independent learning - Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches to meet the student’s individual needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the Learning Support team, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Promote the student’s social, emotional, and personal development
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- An understanding of supporting students with additional learning needs (SEN experience is desirable but not essential)
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
