Millfield Prep School is seeking a well-organised and proactive Administrator (Transport) to join our busy General Office team. This varied role includes managing the school’s transport processes, liaising with departments, and providing wider administrative support across the school. This is a term-time role plus 4 additional weeks, working 35 hours per week: during term time Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm, and outside term time Monday to Friday, 9.00am–3.00pm. The salary for this position is £18,117.13 per annum.
Key duties include maintaining pupil records and registers, supporting the school calendar and events, covering reception, assisting with reports and meetings, and ensuring effective communication with parents through our systems. The role also involves general office tasks such as handling post, ordering supplies, and supporting colleagues across departments.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and confidence with Microsoft Excel. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

Millfield School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Teacher of Art to join its successful Art and Photography Department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach within a collaborative and creative environment supported by outstanding facilities.
The Art and Photography Department comprises five full-time and two part-time teachers, supported by a full-time technician, and is housed in exceptional purpose-built accommodation. Facilities include five art studios, a darkroom, kiln room, computer suite, two photography suites and a professional lighting studio. Teaching takes place in small groups, typically of around fifteen students, allowing staff to support students in reaching their full potential.
The department teaches students aged 13 to 18 across a wide range of abilities. All Year 9 students follow Millfield’s bespoke Brilliance Curriculum, leading into GCSE courses and a broad Sixth Form offer that includes A Level Art, A Level Photography and the Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design.
The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner with strong subject knowledge and experience teaching Art at GCSE and A Level, with a good understanding of AQA Art and Design courses. Experience of teaching the Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design is desirable but not essential. The post holder will demonstrate secure contextual and art historical knowledge, confidence in the use of ICT, experience with 3D materials and processes, and a strong awareness of health and safety. A willingness to contribute to the department’s extensive co-curricular programme is essential.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
As a Peripatetic Care and Support Worker with SOL, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support that empowers people to live fulfilling, independent lives in line with their Outcome-Based Support Plans and SOL’s mission, vision, and values.
The Peripatetic Support Workers role is pivotal in ensuring that the people we work for are always supported by staff who know what is important to them and how best to support them.
In the role as Peripatetic Support Worker, you will be working across a number of teams to cover annual leave and absence. This is a great opportunity to support a variety of people.
As a Peripatetic Care and Support Worker you will:
- Deliver compassionate, respectful care that promotes dignity, autonomy, and inclusion.
- Support people in their own homes or family homes to maintain their tenancy and live the lifestyle they choose.
- Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing) and daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping, where appropriate.

- Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in activities and encouraging the maintenance of positive relationships with family, friends, and the community.
- Accurately record all required information using SOL’s [digital] systems and contribute to the ongoing improvement of service quality.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver consistent and coordinated support.
- Be required to adapt their visit schedule at short notice on their designated working days.
- Support the development and delivery of high-quality services by maintaining compliance with SOL’s policies, SSSC Codes of Practice, National Care and Care Inspectorate standards.
- Participate in coaching, reflection, and review processes to support personal and professional development.
- Maintain continuous professional development and meet all training and SSSC registration requirements, including any mandatory training and the completion of an SVQ.
- Represent SOL positively in all interactions, upholding our values and safeguarding the organisation’s reputation.
- Be expected to work over either Christmas or New Year as part of a rotational arrangement.

Where will I be working?
Our services in Clayton provide 24-hour facilities in providing care for adults with Learning Disabilities and additional health issues. We are looking for individuals to support our service users who have complex health needs. Please note that there is a high level of support required in this service, including personal care and hoisting.
Please note that this is a nights position. Working hours are from 7pm - 7:30am.
Role Responsibility
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- promoting the independence of people we support
- supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- helping residents stay safe and healthy
- assisting with personal care needs
- manual handling
- supporting people with medication including creams and lotions
- ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.

Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. What is essential is that you are:

- able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed

The Role
This role is based in Jane Percy House, a 25-bed purpose-built unit in Cramlington, Northumberland which provides care and support to people with physical disabilities and complex needs. We have a sensory room and a sensory garden.
We will train you to provide personalised support to people who use our service and in your induction, you will get to know how to work alongside and support them. You will follow individual support plans to meet the needs and aspirations of each person.
