Sounds great, what will I be doing?
The role focuses on providing high-quality support to individuals in mental health crisis. You will assist clients during their stay, helping to reduce immediate distress and develop plans to prevent future crises. This includes working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary mental health services to ensure effective, multi-agency support. All interventions should reflect the organisation's values and commitment to recovery, co-production, and person-centred care, while following established policies and procedures.
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
You will have demonstrable experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis needs, with a strong understanding of a range of mental health conditions, crisis management, and how to communicate with dignity and respect. You will be knowledgeable in relevant mental health legislation, including CPA processes, and committed to recovery-focused approaches. Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you will support and induct peer staff and volunteers while working effectively with statutory services such as the NHS. You will have a good awareness of health and safety and safeguarding responsibilities, alongside strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills to maintain clear and accurate records. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working Monday to Sunday between 9am–5pm, including bank holidays.

About the service:
Longview House is a 24hr Registered Mental Health Care Home, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health/addiction to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a 24hr staffed service to our residents aged 18 - 67.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

Waythrough Services range from 24-hour residential care with nursing to floating support in peoples own homes. Some require evenings, weekends, nightshifts (waking or sleeping) and on-calls.
The people we support are central to everything we do. Each person who uses our services – residents or clients – is a unique individual and they all deserve to be treated as such. Longview House is a 24 hour Supporting Housing for those experiencing mental health difficulties. Often multiple and complex needs will arise, and you may need to be able to support in some of these areas also. As such, your responsibilities may vary from day to day.
