FitzRoy are looking for enthusiastic and person-centred individuals to work alongside people at Jellicoe Court, our vibrant and sociable supported living service in Chineham, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Jellicoe Court is home to 18 adults, each with their own unique personality, aspirations, and preferences. We partner with individuals who may have learning disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injuries. Some people may communicate their needs or express themselves in ways that require understanding, patience, and a positive approach, and may also live with health conditions like epilepsy or diabetes. Our focus is always on understanding each person and enabling them to live well on their own terms.
Jellicoe Court is a bright, modern community where each individual enjoys the independence of their own self-contained flat. The service also boasts welcoming communal spaces where everyone comes together – whether it’s for movie nights, themed parties, or karaoke sessions. Additionally, we have a lovely garden for those who like to relax, enjoy fresh air, and participate in outdoor activities.
As someone who works alongside the people living here, your days will be varied and rewarding. You might be enabling Claire* to choose and buy what she needs at the local shops or assisting Matthew* to manage his health by attending his diabetes nurse appointment. No two days will be the same because everyone’s day is shaped by their own choices and interests.

This role encompasses all aspects of daily life which includes, showering, bathing, and personal hygiene, always with a focus on dignity, respect, and promoting independence wherever possible.
A full UK manual driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive our vehicles.

Support Worker Hours
You will work a set pattern of morning and afternoon shifts. Shifts are 7.5 hours, and a full-time contract is 37.5 hours (5 shifts a week). The earliest start is from 7am and the latest finish is until 10pm.
Weekend working is essential, which will be on a rotating basis and when you work a weekend you will have the time off in the week.

ABOUT YOU
Ideally with, or working towards, a Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, you’ll have a proven track record caring for vulnerable individuals with a commitment to providing high quality care at all times.
You’ll also have previous supervisory experience from the health and social care sector, including; managing rotas and payroll, performance reviews, interviewing and inductions for new starters. Alongside being confident in working on your own and being able to use your own initiative to resolve problems and deal with queries.
At the request of your manager, you may be asked to travel to some of our other schemes, so you’ll need to have access to transport. You will also be part of the on-call rota.

ASSISTANT HOUSE PARENT JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: ASSISTANT HOUSE PARENT - ISS Responsible to: Welfare Manager Main Purpose: The Assistant House Parents are responsible for working closely with the House Parent within their house, and the Welfare Manager to ensure excellent standards of pastoral care for the pupils on the summer school programme. Assistants will be led by their House Parents to ensure that all pupils enjoy a warm, welcoming, supportive atmosphere, and that the house is run smoothly to protect the safety and wellbeing of international pupils within the boarding house. Course Dates: The course in 2026 will run for 4 weeks, and we will be offering contracts of varying lengths, depending on the candidates’ availability and experience and our student numbers. All candidates must attend on-site induction prior to the start date (outlined below). If candidates have holidays, weddings, graduations etc booked, they must mention this at the interview stage. Time off for such events cannot be guaranteed otherwise. The course is run on the Senior School campus (Sedbergh), with three London trips running throughout the course. We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers to join our friendly team at our St Andrews service.
We support around 20 individuals living independently in their own flats, helping them with their day-to-day lives so they can live as independently and confidently as possible. All flats are located within the same building, creating a welcoming community feel and meaning there is no travel between sites, there is always a supportive staff team on hand.
Our service is ideally located just a 5-minute walk from St Andrews bus station, with regular connections to the rest of Fife, Dundee and surrounding areas.
We offer a good level of flexibility around shift patterns. Shifts run across 7 days with early shifts starting from 7am and late shifts finishing at 10pm. Sleepover shifts* are a requirement in the service.
Please note that due to local bus timetables, public transport may not always be available for travel to or from surrounding areas at these times.
*A sleepover shift consists of working during the day, a rest period sleeping over in the service and then working again the next day. The sleepover period is over and above your contracted hours and gets paid as an additional payment of £100.80 per sleepover.

PurposeWorking with clients, health professionals, service providers and employers, as an Supported Employment or IPS Employment Specialist you will be focused on making sure a person’s journey into employment, with associated improved social inclusion and wellbeing is as easy as possible. You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferencesThis is a performance-focused role, with clear targets aligned to our contractual commitments.
This is a community based role.
Essential:You will have: E = Essential. D = Desirable
- Trained in or knowledge of IPS and/or Supported Employment approach (D)
- Experience of working with people with health conditions / disabilities, substance misuse needs, or a similar client group within health, social services or the voluntary sector (E)
- Some knowledge of IPS or Supported Employment principles (E)
- Experience of generating programme referrals through local partnerships including GP’s, DWP, community groups. (D)
- Experience of working with someone on a one-to-one basis (E)
- Proven experience of meeting and exceeding outcomes and targets (E)
- Experience of supporting people to obtain or keep work (E)
- Experience of working in physical and/or mental health services or similar (D)
- Experience working with employers to develop job opportunities for clients and to support them whilst in work (D)
