New Forest Day Opportunities Support Worker
Location: New Forest
Hours: 18 hours per week – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Timings: 9:30am to 4pm
Salary: £11,466 per annum
About the Role
Minstead Trust is looking for a compassionate and motivated Day Opportunities Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to people with neurodiverse abilities. You will help individuals build confidence, develop life skills, and engage meaningfully in a range of activities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making a genuine difference in people’s lives and thrives in a supportive, person‑centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1–1 support that enables individuals to participate fully in daily sessions and activities
- Build trusting relationships that encourage engagement, independence and choice
- Work closely with Instructors to plan meaningful activities each day
- Support personal care needs, communication, healthy choices and medication (where required)
- Use positive behaviour support to help manage anxiety respectfully and effectively
- Promote equality, dignity and inclusion at all times
- Maintain accurate digital records using Nourish
- Communicate professionally with families, carers and colleagues
- Follow safeguarding and organisational policies to ensure a safe, high‑quality service
- Share skills and ideas to help improve the service
About You
Desirable skills and experience:
- Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care (or equivalent experience)
- Experience supporting adults with neurodiverse disabilities
- Experience in day opportunities, social care, or community support
- Ability to stay calm, compassionate and solution‑focused in challenging situations
- Basic digital literacy (recording systems, communication tools)
- Strong team player with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
