Organisational Context Quo Vadis Trust (QVT) is a specialist housing charity (registration number 1116196) in South- East London. We provide a service to people living with mental health and behaviours that challenge. QVT currently provides homes to approximately two hundred people in South- East London. Our range of support both on and off the premises helps each individual client to maximise their independence. 2. Job Purpose To provide high-quality support to our clients, we focus on understanding the reasons behind their behaviour, life history, and both physical and emotional needs. Our aim is to help them recover, move on, and rebuild their lives. As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker, you will be responsible for managing and key working a caseload of adults with various mental health challenges and needs. These may include anxiety, depression and bi-polar disorder and other diagnoses, as well as issues such as substance misuse and difficulties in trusting support services. One of the challenges in this role will be to encourage clients to engage with the recovery process. About Autism Plus
Autism Plus are a leading Yorkshire Charity supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs.
In 1986 the Charity was created by a group of parents looking for the very best support for their children who were about to leave a specialist school. Once they reached the age of 17, they found there was little or no support. The belief set by our founding parents, to empower more people to live independent, fulfilling lives remains our focus today.
We employ over 350 people across the north of England in care support services, employment support and social enterprise businesses.
About the Role: Hours: Full and part time hours available, full time hours will be 36 hours a week and part time hours will be 24 hours a week. Shifts may cover days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rolling rota. Location: Hull
Essential: Previous experience in a similar setting as a Complex Care Support Worker is essential for this role.
Desired but not essential: Full, clean Driving License
You will support and empower people to identify their goals, pursue their interests and hobbies, support their health and wellbeing, and be a part of their local community. You will need to provide innovative and Person Centred solutions for people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Mental Health conditions and other disabilities irrespective of where and how they live, to improve their quality of life and to extend and exercise their rights to access more control over their lives.
Our Complex Care Support Workers assist individuals who have complex needs and/or mental health issues, in accordance with Care Plans and will offer positive behaviour support to individuals, who express their frustrations and needs through challenging behaviour, by using appropriate strategies.
Job Description (includes, but is not limited too)

To assist individuals who have complex needs/mental health issues in their home, in accordance with Care Plans and assess their skills and needs

Provide practical support for individuals such as helping with household tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care and paperwork

Provide emotional support to individuals by talking to them and listening to their problems and concerns

Understanding their communication needs and adapting communication to each individual, e.g. sounds, tones, body language

To offer unconditional positive regard to individuals, to respect right to privacy and to ensure that their dignity is maintained at all times

Assisting the Clinical Team in their clinical duties with the individual

Becoming both a role model and companion to the individual and uncovering shared interests, such as hobbies and outings

You will work with adults (18+) to provide support that will significantly improve their quality of life. This will be supporting one gentleman within his own home who likes playing board games, going to events, spending time on the PlayStation, and being out in the local community.
