We are looking for an experienced and dynamic practitioner who shares the ambitions and values of both The Children’s Society, our partners, and BBC Children in Need to work directly with children aged 8-13 and their families where appropriate. We’re looking for someone who has excellent relational skills and who is familiar with ways of engaging younger children and their families specifically in relation to improving children’s emotional health and wellbeing. Our ambition is to support children and their families as early as possible to help prevent children developing and experiencing and mental health difficulties as they become teenagers.
The programme offers one-to-one time-limited wellbeing interventions to children and their families. We utilise solution-focussed approaches to provide children and their families with a toolbox of strategies to help support the child’s emotional health and wellbeing and manage their feelings. The direct work with children and families is also supported by digital interventions, through the use of our own wellbeing site “Me Time”.
The successful applicant will be responsible for holding an agreed caseload of children who are struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing, working alongside other agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes and recording the impact you’ve been able to make on children’s lives. You also utilise The Children’s Society digital offer as part of this programme.

We are looking for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to join our amazing MHARS team.
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Community Mental Health Team, providing a crisis line; an open access, single point of telephone access for self-referral and agency referrals. You will respond to calls in a manner guided by the service principles being inclusive, sensitive and respectful.
From the moment you answer the telephone, you will listen and ensure that you understand the issues that have led to crisis for that person, providing an immediate response to those whose life may be in immediate danger. Understanding each person’s unique situation resulting in fast, tailored support and finding ways to successfully resolve the crisis situation and assist planning for the future.
Once the initial period of crisis has been addressed you will support connections to additional, statutory or community support and/or deliver a Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) response to those in distress. This will involve community-based problem-solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supporting connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days. You will be flexible and responsive, offering the medium of support that the supported person feels most comfortable with.
You will assist people who use the service to establish and maintain a meaningful and fulfilling life in the community. Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioners play a central role in the planning and provision of quality, recovery focused support to people who use the service.

Family Outreach Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Phoenix Futures Team at our North Lanarkshire Family Service. We are looking for a Family Outreach Worker who is passionate about supporting loved ones affected by someone else’s alcohol or drug use. The North Lanarkshire Family service is a standalone family support service that provides community based support and interventions across the 6 localities of North Lanarkshire to anyone over 16 affected by someone else’s alcohol and/or drug use.
The Role
As a Family Outreach Worker, you will support loved ones who are concerned about someone else's alcohol and/ or drug use using a range of 1:1 and group interventions including but not limited to CRAFT. As an Outreach worker you will provide community based support to loved ones in their own community and where appropriate conduct home visits. You will carry a caseload of family members and assess risk appropriately to ensure that appropriate support is given. You will promote the Whole Family Approach and Family Inclusive practice across the 6 localities of North Lanarkshire.
The role is part time 21.5 hours per week. You will be part of a passionate and skilled team, contributing to the provision of tailored family interventions and recovery approaches.
About You
To join us as a Family Outreach Worker at The North Lanarkshire Family Service, you will need:
· Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of working with family members or those impacted by drug and alcohol use, problematic substance use, mental health or another comparable field
· Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service
· Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills
· To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Understand complex issues that family members and individuals impacted by alcohol and/or drug use face
· Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn
· Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support

Job Purpose: Support families affected by substance use by delivering a whole family programme. You will help strengthen family resilience, improve communication, and support positive change for children, young people, and their families in Oxfordshire.
- Deliver the Cranstoun Here4YOUth Whole Family Programme, including comprehensive whole-family assessments exploring challenges, coping strategies, and readiness for change.
- Lead the co-ordination of group interventions for children, young people, and whole families.
- Contribute to service evaluations and service level reporting
- Mentor and participate in induction for volunteers within the family service.
- Provide guidance and peer supervision to team members working with children and young people who are affected by substance use

Person Specification:

We are seeking two part time Family Hub Support Workers to join the Early Years Alliance team in Luton. Working within the Flying Start/Family Hub team, delivering services across the town, providing high quality universal and targeted services for families. The role will focus on the under-fives sessions but also signposting to wider family services. - Plan and deliver high quality focused and universal sessions, including the evaluation of all sessions and activities to encourage the engagement of parents in their children’s learning, development, health and wellbeing, at various locations in Luton.
