Westway Trust are seeking experienced and qualified Adult Learning Tutors to join their expanding tutor team to deliver accredited and non-accredited Digital Skills courses to adult learners in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC) area. This is a part-time, term-time role.
The primary responsibility of the Digital Skills Tutor will be to design and deliver high quality, learner-centred teaching, and learning and assessment experiences to our employed and unemployed adult learners from Entry level to Level 1, while supporting the Adult and Community Learning Manager to achieve the Trust’s strategic objectives.

Teaching
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions, workshops, and tutorials in line with the curriculum requirements and the needs of individual learners, ensuring learning objectives are met

- To develop differentiated Individual Learning Plans with students, monitor and track learners’ progress, providing regular feedback and strategically addressing areas of weakness maintaining up to date course files and submitting accurate data on attendance and achievement within agreed deadlines

Qualifications:
- Teaching or training qualification for working in adult learning (e.g. PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent suitable experience)

Event Support volunteers help to deliver a variety of different events at The Joshua Tree, from planning and promoting the event to helping set up and running activities during the event. We are dedicated to offering a fun and engaging event that is memorable for participants, whilst also showcasing The Joshua Tree and its groundbreaking work. Opportunities to support the Family Support Team • Get Creative - To help set up events alongside our Family Support team and prepare the Centre to welcome our families. Our craft tables are always such a huge hit with the children and so volunteers can be on hand to help with all the paints, crayons, and gallons of glitter. • Get stuck in – Assist with all aspects of the sessions, from setting up craft tables, to getting the heart space prepared, to filling the kettle ready to help make lots of teas and coffees. • Be the host with the most - To welcome our families into the Centre and make them feel at ease straight away. If it is their first time, being able to make introductions and directing them to where they can sit down or make a cup of tea will go a long way in making them feel at home. We need regular, smiley, and positive volunteers for our family events so that our families feel at home when they are with us. • Be our voice - To feel confident when talking about The Joshua Tree and our work • All hands-on deck – the event, as well as to • Supervise children – groups, levels, and the child's imagination to help tidy up afterwards and not take advantage of our wonderful volunteers. As a Family Support Volunteer, you will provide additional support to the families we work with by either volunteering alongside our Family Support Workers, or supporting families independently.

- Social support for siblings e.g. supporting interests, craft and play activities or helping with homework
- Accompanying the family on days out or sibling trips during the school holidays
- Accompanying the family to hospital appointments
- Practical support in the family home such as housework, shopping or gardening

- An excellent communicator who can build relationships with children and young people
- Experience of interacting with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Experience of interacting with children and young people
- Confidence in working with children and young people with complex health needs
- An ability to empathise with families in stressful circumstances

Job Description
Housing First Support Worker – Gateshead
Location: Gateshead, Tyne & Wear and South Tyneside
Salary:
£24,531 per annum.
Full-time role:
37 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm across a 7-day rota).
Key overview:
The Housing First support Worker will be responsible for coordinating and providing a person centred, strength-based support service to create long term sustainable tenancies by empowering individuals increasing independence, and maximising connectivity with the local community.
All activity will be underpinned by the following Housing First Principles:
- People have the right to a home
- Flexible support is provided for as long as it is needed
- Housing and support are separate
- People have choice and control over all aspects of their lives
- The service is based upon individual’s strengths, goals, and aspirations
- An active engagement approach is used
- A harm reduction approach is used.
Reporting to the Housing First Team Leader, the Housing First Support Worker is responsible for coordinating and providing a personalised, trauma informed support service to people experiencing multiple disadvantage experiencing systemic exclusion in line with Housing First Principles.
Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references, meeting essential criteria and Enhanced DBS (dependent on role).
