The role is with ExtraCare Charitable Trust, focused on supporting its mission and delivering excellent customer experience. As a Night Concierge, you’ll be the reassuring presence that keeps residents, colleagues, and the community safe and supported overnight. The role includes responding to emergencies with first aid if needed, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, carrying out vital health, safety, and security checks, and stepping in to support the care team only in urgent situations.

As a Night Concierge, you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- To be responsible for carrying out cleaning duties in the communal areas as required in the cleaning schedules for their location.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of Residents during the evening and night-time by monitoring all activities in the village during this period.
- To ensure the building remains secure at all times and give access to emergency services from time to time as appropriate.
- Patrolling inside, checking fire panels, check if any mobility scooters have been left on charge in communal areas, check workshops, fire exits, kitchen and laundries.. Check if all residents have left the bar, if so, turn Village lights off and tidy bar area. Also patrol outside and the perimeters of the village during the evening and night.
- Monitoring of CCTV surveillance to identify areas of concern..
- In emergency situations only assist the care team to deliver care and support to residents.
- To provide a safe environment for other night staff members by escorting them to on site locations, outside of the village centre as part of their night duties or to react to emergency calls.
- To make calls to emergency services or take appropriate action in the event of a serious incident or emergency,
- To take responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety in your location ensuring ExtraCare’s Health and Safety Policies and Requirements are fully implemented, monitored and adhered.
- To review and keep up to date Risk assessments relating to the building and statutory checks.

At the very heart of our new Hospice home, you’ll find Gargowan Café – a bright, light-filled space to relax, refuel and enjoy fresh, local flavours.

Key Responsibilities:
- Taking food and drink orders for table service
- Serving visitors food and refreshments
- Cleaning tables and general area, possibly including in servery to support catering staff

Job description
Job Purpose
The post holder will join the School of Infection and Immunity, working in the structural biology and bioinformatics research areas under the supervision of Dr Victor Tobiasson (Principal Investigator).
The applicant will make essential contributions to a research programme focussed on understanding the evolution of macromolecular structures from the phylogenomic perspective as well as contribute to understanding the development of rRNA fragmentation in Myzozoan parasites.
A successful candidate will have proven skills in computational biology and a working understanding of structural biology and evolution. They will be self-motivated in designing and executing experiments, with a proven track record in most of the following techniques, scripting and programming in python and bash, processing of sequencing data, sequence database construction and maintenance, molecular phylogenetics and evolutionary analysis.
Main Duties & Responsibilities.

Plan and conduct assigned research individually or jointly in accordance with the project deliverables and project/group/School/College research strategy.

Document research output including analysis and interpretation of all data, maintaining records and databases, drafting technical/progress reports and papers as appropriate.

We are looking for a commercially minded Assistant Store Manager to support with the management of staff, stock and premises at our charity shop.
What does this role do?
As Assistant Store Manager, you'll:
- inspire a team of volunteers to deliver excellent customer service,
- maintain high levels of shop presentation through effective merchandising,
- take personal ownership for the performance of the store, working to maximise profits where possible,
- be instrumental in ensuring your store is a successful hub of the community, working closely with local rehoming centres and representing the Dogs Trust brand.

Living Well Centre – Volunteer Role Vacancies
Would you like to volunteer and be a part of our team in the Rowans Living Well Centre? Can you spare a couple of hours per week?
We currently have opportunities for volunteers in the following roles
Coffee Shop team
Meet & Greet Volunteers
- Tuesdays 9.30am – 12.30pm
- Fridays 9.30am-12.30pm
- Fridays 12.30pm-4pm
Drivers
Various shifts required dependent on the need. You will be required to use your own car and claim back mileage. You will also be requested to to partake in a driving assessment
Experience would be desirable, but we welcome applications from all individuals who have a keen interest in supporting their local Hospice.
