We are based in the north west of Glasgow – supporting up to 27 homeless people in our residential project, which we term our community, who help to operate social enterprises and give back to our local, national and international communities.

We are seeking a full time Support Worker – resident support and training, to join our small team. The role will be to provide practical, emotional and development support to the people who live with us, who we call our companions.
Key aspects of the role
- Keywork with an allocation of companions – establishing personal support care plans and providing support for companions to reach personal goals through everyday activities and planned 1-1 sessions. Ensure recording system is up to date.
- Support the everyday running of our homeless project, which we refer to as our community, and be responsive and flexible to the needs of companions throughout the day.
- Become a V1 assessor to develop training opportunities for residents to achieve Core Skills awards within the SCQF/ SQA framework.
- Undertake On Call telephone access as required (currently 1 week per month).
Person skills
We are looking for someone with integrity, respect and compassion and is committed to working alongside our companions and who is willing to be flexible in what is required in their day. An understanding of the trauma impact of homelessness is essential.
You must hold a qualification relevant to being a Support Worker in a Housing Support Service and be able to register with SSSC.
After interviews, the successful candidate will need to provide evidence of right to work in the UK and complete a PVG check.

We are currently recruiting for a part time (32 hours per week) Support Worker at Webster Court!
Shift work, plus sleep-ins (£43.12) on a rota basis.
Webster Court provides supported living exclusively for the over-50’s, who have enduring mental health challenges and multiple needs. A number of our thirty-two residents have either experienced homelessness, have previously been vulnerably housed or otherwise would struggle to live independently in the community.
A typical day at Webster Court is wide and varied; one minute you could be supporting a resident with their medication, the next taking part in a group social activity or meeting with health or social care professionals. We place a huge emphasis on our residents remaining as independent as possible with their daily living tasks but we’re on hand to offer support when needed.
This can include practical tasks such as preparing a meal with a resident to encouraging them to keep their flat tidy.
We’re registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care to a small number of our residents, however as we’re not a traditional care environment, this is very light touch.
Working on a shift pattern with a small team of colleagues, you will be responsible for making your own decisions in supporting our residents ensuring their safety, supporting them to maintain their mental and physical well being and working as a team to deliver a person centred and high-quality service.

We are looking for:
- Someone with an awareness of Trauma Informed Care and an ability to work with a Psychologically Informed approach.
- Emotional resilience with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Experience of supporting people who have poor mental health, dual diagnosis or who choose to lead unconventional lives.
- Someone who has experience of providing a high standard of care and support, following digital support plans in either a domiciliary, supported living or residential care environment.
- Observing and respecting resident’s dignity, privacy and independence in a regulated Care Quality Commission service.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible and work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays and sleeping nights on a rota basis.

From assisting with daily activities like trampolining and swimming to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

- May involve sleep ins and wake nights.
What we're looking for:

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.

Day Time Support Worker

An opportunity has become available to join Ruskin Mill College, Ruskin Mill Trust, as part of the committed day time support team focusing on the holistic needs of the students. This role is challenging and rewarding. We are looking for people with great character and a desire to make a positive impact on young people’s lives, and to provide students with support and guidance to help them engage in timetabled sessions in a safe and appropriate way.
