We are looking to recruit people who will work as part of a team providing support to individuals in their own home and in the community.
Duties include ensuring that they are supported in a person-centred way and supporting them to be active members of their community in order to maximise their independence. You will also contribute to the planning and development of the Living Support Services to ensure a high standard of support is provided to everyone who uses the service.
Required Skills
- Experience of working with people with enduring mental health problems an advantage.
- Level 3 Diploma/NVQ qualification in Health & Social Care (Adults) an advantage.
- A commitment to undertake appropriate training is essential.
- The ability to work as part of a team, but also to work independently.
- A commitment to working in a person centred manner.
- An understanding and commitment to the Mental Health Recovery model an advantage.
- An ability to work a range of hours including nights on a rotational basis.
- Full clean driving licence preferred.

You will be joining our amazing team of Support Workers who already operate the small outreach service that is situated in Dedridge.

Livingston Service already supports 3 people out in the community in their own homes. Some of these supported people need 24 hour support and others only need short periods of support.
There will be 3 new Supported People requiring 24 hour care with a variety of complex needs (including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health an Epilepsy) joining the service.
We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated individuals however experience is preferred but not essential. We will consider individuals that can demonstrate the right values and willingness to engage with their learning and development.

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers to join our friendly team at our St Andrews service.
We support around 20 individuals living independently in their own flats, helping them with their day-to-day lives so they can live as independently and confidently as possible. All flats are located within the same building, creating a welcoming community feel and meaning there is no travel between sites, there is always a supportive staff team on hand.
Our service is ideally located just a 5-minute walk from St Andrews bus station, with regular connections to the rest of Fife, Dundee and surrounding areas.
We offer a good level of flexibility around shift patterns. Shifts run across 7 days with early shifts starting from 7am and late shifts finishing at 10pm. Sleepover shifts* are a requirement in the service.
Please note that due to local bus timetables, public transport may not always be available for travel to or from surrounding areas at these times.

What will you be doing?
· Ensure the care and support planning and personalised risk assessment processes are well managed.
· Uphold highest standards relating to Safeguarding and ensure all staff training is current.
· Lead the teams in delivering person centred support which ensures people make and maintain relationships that are important to them.
· Lead the teams in enabling people to play an active role in their community and achieve the things that matter to them.
· Deliver services in accordance with the contract, budget, and commissioned hours.
· Lead staff in the implementation of all support plans / guidance and to ensure plans and risk assessments are current and appropriately updated.
· Ensure the involvement and inclusion of all people as well as their circle of support if desired.
· Lead teams who encourage and enable people we support to maximise independence and to be active in their community.
· Ensure people are supported to give feedback on the support received and act upon this feedback, updating support plans accordingly.
· Ensure the delivery of Active Support across your services in accordance with Mirus strategy.
What we're looking for:
Essential:
· QCF level 4/5 management qualification or willing to work towards
· Experience of supporting people who have learning disabilities, with minimum 1 year's management experience
· Experience of positively liaising with external agencies, families, and representatives
· Experience of working within legislative guidelines, i.e., C IW Standards, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, DOLS etc
· Ability to work flexibly and take part in an ‘Out of Hours' service
· Ability to work effectively across a range of teams, to include peer group and Multi-Disciplinary Teams

Where will I be working?
Our services in Stafford provide a 24-hour supported living facility in providing care for adults with Learning Disabilities. We accommodate up to 8 people with mild to complex Learning Disabilities. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24-hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts including nights and some weekends.
Role Responsibility
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- Promoting the independence of people we support
- Supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- Arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- Developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- Helping residents stay safe and healthy
- Assisting with personal care needs
- Manual handling
- Supporting people with medication
- Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements

What skills and qualities do I need to have?
Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. What is essential is that you are:

- Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed
