Green Growth Programme Component 3: Scaling Finance for Established Agri-businesses in the Democratic Republic of Congo forms part of FCDO’s Green Growth Programme (GGP) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This component aims to increase access to finance for climate-smart agribusinesses, catalysing private investment and promoting sustainable economic growth. The programme will work with financial institutions, impact funds, and agribusinesses to expand the use of innovative financial products, improve access to finance for DRC firms, and incentivise lenders and investors to support green activities such as the uptake of resilient seeds, irrigation systems, and solar technologies. Through a combination of technical assistance and catalytic grants and guarantees the programme will mobilise additional private capital including debt and equity financing, strengthen financial markets, and build the resilience and productivity of DRC’s agricultural sector. This component forms part of FCDO’s broader efforts to promote low-carbon, climate-resilient development and deliver measurable results under the UK’s International Climate Finance (ICF) commitments.
The Position
The Team Leader will provide strategic leadership and overall management of GGP Component 3, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of all targets and outputs. They will oversee programme staff, maintain compliance with Mercy Corps and FCDO requirements, and serve as the main liaison with FCDO, government counterparts, partners, and other stakeholders. The Team Leader will ensure coordinated implementation, strong partner collaboration, and integration of technical inputs in line with the programme’s Theory of Change.

In 2023, we reached nearly two million people through our key activities in the DRC, combining long- term development programs with emergency humanitarian response to: 1) improve water service delivery and ensure equitable access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services in both urban and rural areas (WASH); 2) enhance food security and nutrition; and 3) promote diversified livelihoods, economic recovery, and development. Mercy Corps DRC’s humanitarian programs specifically aim to assist populations affected by conflict and crisis in eastern Congo through unconditional cash assistance and emergency WASH support to displaced persons, returnees, and host families.

The Position (General Position Summary)
As a member of Mercy Corps’ DRC Emergency Team, the Emergency Grants Manager will work closely with the Emergency Programs Director (EPD), the SAFER Consortium Director, and the Deputy Emergency Grants Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality and impactful programming within Mercy Corps DRC’s emergency response portfolio. The position will contribute to humanitarian efforts across the DRC by supporting the implementation of life-saving interventions, including those under the multi-million-dollar, multi-donor funded SAFER program — a consortium of international NGOs working together to promote a rapid, principled, efficient, and effective response to humanitarian needs.
The Emergency Grants Manager will play a key role in securing new funding opportunities by coordinating or leading proposal development processes, while also ensuring the quality and timeliness of donor reporting and communications for ongoing programs. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support the in-house maintenance team. The RSC estate is vast and comprises theatres, offices, residential properties and gardens, your role is to ensure that the estate operates efficiently and to the highest standard, creating a safe and well-maintained environment for visitors and colleagues.
Reporting to the Estates Services Manager key areas of responsibility include (please see the full role profile for the comprehensive list):
- Supervising and allocating tasks to maintenance and grounds teams.
- Line managing and developing members of the maintenance team.
- Identifying and scheduling short term and longer-term maintenance needs.
- Overseeing maintenance of all aspects of buildings, including heating, ventilation, kitchen, building fabric, mechanical, electrical and drainage.
- Organising and managing external contractors.
- Ensuring buildings and plant comply with legislation and safety regulations.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical discipline.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
