The role:
BH Live is recruiting for a full time NPLQ qualified Lifeguard to join our team at BH Live Active, Bitterne in Southampton.
Bitterne Leisure Centre is a multi-complex facility, offering activities for visitors of all ages and abilities to help improve health and wellbeing.
Swimming lessons and sessions take place regularly across a 25m main pool (complete with a water slide) and a 10m learner pool.
You will:
- Work poolside and be the main point of contact for our customers.
- Ensure our customers are kept safe and comply with the centre rules.
- Erect, dismantle and move equipment.
- Clean the centre and equipment.
- Be vigilant and supervise people who are using the pool and centre facilities.
You will need:

- Your NPLQ qualification
- Satisfactory DBS Clearance
- Be a confident swimmer
- To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative
- The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside
- Great customer service skills
- To be available to work hours aligned to the centres opening hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
- Be willing to work at other local sites.

Job Title: Lifeguard | Location: Bridgend Life Centre | Job Type: Permanent| Salary: £12.21 per hour

As a Lifeguard you are calm and confident, potentially you could save a life, and you will help keep people safe. You will need to feel comfortable being in control of the pool and challenging inappropriate behaviour.
You’re not the type to panic under pressure and compromise the safety of others. The role isn’t Baywatch, you don't just sit and watch. You can perform a rescue, deliver first aid, and have difficult conversations with customers who are not acting safely, we will give you the skills and qualifications to be able to do this. You’re looking for the chance to progress and work to a regular rota pattern.
As our next Lifeguard you’ll provide safe supervision of customers in poolside locations. You will keep people safe, ultimately you are responsible for preventing serious injuries or accidents.

National Pool Lifeguard Qualified or have the ability to pass the course

Visitor Operations Assistant
We’re on the lookout for brilliant individuals who can help us turn 'a day at the zoo' into 'the best day ever!'

The Role
As a Visitor Operations Assistant your role unfolds across the whole zoo where no two days are the same. You’ll always be on your feet and on the move and regularly walk up to 10,000 steps a day.
From clearing litter and keeping our facilities sparkling, directing traffic in our busy carparks where you're the first point of contact for our visitors, and ensuring everything from our seating areas to signage are always presentable. You'll play a vital role in helping to make the zoo a world class visitor experience.
Great customer service is at the heart of this role as you'll be actively engaging with visitors on our Lazy River Boat Ride, bringing Virtual Reality experiences to life, helping our younger visitors at our Off-Road Adventure track and lots more. You'll be a problem solver and quick thinker ensuring our visitors questions are answered in a professional and positive manner.
This is a hands on, physically demanding role that will involve carrying equipment, working outdoors in all weathers and staying active throughout your shift. A can-do attitude, high energy and a love for variety are essential when carrying out this role.
You'll be a part of a dedicated team that bring some of the zoos most spectacular events to life. From the magic of Lanterns & Light to the unforgettable summer thrills of Afterglow. You'll help to transform the zoo into an immersive, atmospheric experience for thousands of visitors. It’s fast-paced, lively and often full-on, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. You'll have a front row seat to the excitement, variety and adventure in a team that doesn't just meet expectations but exceeds them. We'll provide the wonder. You share the joy.
The Package
We have multiple contracts available on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays. Normal shifts fall between 7:00am and 6:00pm. Late nights for events will be required, these shifts normally fall between 12:00pm and 10:30pm. There is an expectation that you would work additional hours during busier periods.Contracts available are 16 hours weekend only and 20 hours per week working 5 days out of 7

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is an Out and about visit role which means your visits are likely to be longer, very active and the person you visit will often take an active part in planning your outings and activities in the community. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tends to be around a couple of hours, sometimes shorter or longer, depending on what you plan to do.
In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:
- Sitting and having a chat
- Checking in on their well- being
- Going out to a local café/pub for a meal/drink
- Take part on community activities like visiting a place of interest, go shopping etc.
- Enjoying a walk
- A craft activity at home

Tonbridge School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Casual Hockey Coach to support our hockey programme during the Lent Term. This is an exciting opportunity to work with talented pupils.
As a Casual Hockey Coach, you will provide coaching support for the Tonbridge School boys during games afternoons and match days.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a team environment, planning and delivering practice sessions, working in a one-to-one basis by building relationships and trust between player and coach, and experience in delivering courses for various age groups, continually looking to progress their skills. UKCC England Hockey Sessional Coach qualification and England Hockey Engaging Games for Children qualification are desirable.
This post is for the period of beginning of January 2026 until end of March 2026 (with a possibility to extend into other terms depending on expertise and availability of sessions), on Tuesdays and Thursday games afternoons, with the possibility of Fridays and Saturdays as required.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of pay dependant on qualifications, skills and experience.
