We are looking for individuals to join our young people services for Stonepillow as a day support worker. We are looking for someone who is inspiring and passionate about young people’s rights and building them a positive future.
We want to engage the successful candidate into how we work in a trauma-informed approach and with kindness.
You will be working with 16+ Older Looked After Young People and Care Leavers that are in the care of West Sussex. You will be required to become familiar with legislation regarding young people in the care of local authority, and the robust Safeguarding, Whistleblowing and Health & Safety requirements.
Your duties will include:
- Providing support in a person-centred way.
- Model a kind, positive, persistent, proactive manner to secure meaningful engagement with young people to bring about sustained outcomes for them; ensuring the team you work with are safe and the young people have a trusted safe adult in their life.
- To manage your own caseload, to ensure the following processes are maintain :
- Produce an individual support and risk assessment, in line with our support model, incorporating the views of the young people.
- Ensure that the voice of the YP is heard in all aspects of the case management process and is articulated to all partners involved.
- To support the team leader to maintain detailed case file audits with properly documented correspondence and evidence of decision-making processes and statutory safeguarding actions.
- Facilitate case reviews quarterly with your line manager, your YP and all professionals linked to their support.
- Support your line manager in managing and coordinating all referrals
- Ensure the YP are invested and working on their Life Skills Programme to gain independence.
- Role model and be a proponent of ‘Unconditional Positive Regard” to our YP and have a ‘never give up approach’ to supporting our YP

Our North East Essex Sanctuary is a service that provides support to those who are at risk of experiencing ill mental health or are feeling overwhelmed between 10am and 11pm, 365 days per year. As a mental health support worker, you will assess, monitor and support individuals on a one to one basis and via group work. You will proactively work in partnership with a variety of our teams and wider organisations within the locality whilst supporting service users to reach their goals.
You will be part of an experienced team who provide emotional support, face to face, online or via telephone and group work, through active listening, de-escalation and distraction techniques, to prevent admission into emergency departments.
Support workers will work either early (10:00-18:00) or late (18:00-23:00) shifts, which will include weekends and all bank holidays as our services runs 365 days a year to ensure we provide the support our service users need. This role is based across both sites - Colchester and Clacton, and you would need to be able to work in both locations.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Response is looking for an enthusiastic, caring person to join their dedicated team at Scrutton Close & Newman Court! The Scrutton Close/Newman Court team focus on supporting clients within their own accommodation. Staff offer a high level of support, and work closely with clients to achieve their personal goals and gain increased independence before taking the next step in their journey.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing person-centred support to residents with serious mental illness including adults who have a primary diagnosis of a psychotic illness often with one or more coexisting conditions such physical health issues, neurodiversity, drugs & alcohol use and cognitive impairment.
Support workers work with residents to enable them to achieve and sustain a rewarding life in the community. Working proactively with residents to promote independence, well-being and ability to manage their own mental health. Staff are responsible for ensuring safety is always maintained though good housing management, risk assessment and health & safety practice. Supporting people to maintain tenancies, look after their homes and develop daily living skills.

- Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance to residents with daily living activities. This may include medication assistance, engaging with interests, education, accessing community groups/facilities, employment, teaching life skills such as shopping, budgeting, using public transport and skills such as planning to prepare and cook meals, maintain accommodation.
- Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes residents' independence.
