The Role
As a Bank Support Practitioner you will play a vital role within our team. You will cover shifts to ensure continued high-quality, person-centred care and support during times of annual leave, training or sickness.
You'll support individuals living in their own homes in the community with disabilities and/or additional support needs. As a Support Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends.
Some of the people we support enjoy being active in their communities, from arts and crafts to watching the football and going out for a tasty bite to eat, the list is endless. We’ll be looking to you to take an active interest in their hobbies and enable individuals to explore new opportunities.

This post will complement our existing OOCR pathway by working specifically with women who present with a higher level of need and who face greater challenges in accessing support. The role offers an opportunity to provide intensive, wraparound support that is responsive to the realities of women’s lives and rooted in trauma-informed, relational practice. The OOCR pathway is delivered in partnership with the OPCC, and forms part of NDND’s wider commitment to trauma informed support within criminal justice interventions. Support is delivered from our women’s centre in central Leicester and on an outreach basis across the county. Essential requirements for the role
Qualification mandatory for practice: a minimum NVQ Level 3 and have experience of working with children within School, Home and community settings
Confident when delivering advice and support to Parents and Carers
Have a good understanding of accurate recording
Have a sound knowledge of GDPR
Have experience and empathy when building relationships with vulnerable children and adults.
Be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- To provide support to autistic people following their outcome-based support plans.
- To develop the outcome-based support plan in line with relevant policies and procedures and current legislation.
- To be actively involved in the service planning, delivery, co-ordination and having autonomy within the team.
- To ensure service provision is of the highest quality, demonstrates best practice and promotes safeguarding.
- To ensure accurate and robust recording within our recording systems including online systems.
- Comply with Finance processes to safeguard individuals.
- To build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to maximise the effectiveness of the service.
- To ensure all actions comply with SSSC Codes of Practice, SA’s policies and procedures.
- To be a Keyworker, leading regular Keyworker Meetings and participating in regular review meetings.
- To actively participate in coaching and the review process, to identify your individualised learning pathway, through a process of exploration and reflective practice.
- To maintain Continuous Professional Development in line with the Scottish Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements
