The Swindon Young Parents service is split across two sites: one in Toothill and one in Pinehurst. We provided strength-based and trauma-informed support to customers aged 16-25 who have become or are about to become young parents. The housing-related support we offer focuses on developing skills in customers so they will become ready to live independently in their own home.
The Support Workers have a regular caseload of their own customers but provide broader support to all customers in the service and travel to both sites will be necessary. Support Workers provide both 1-2-1 support to customers and run larger group activities with a focus on maintaining their homes, tenancies, providing for their families and being good neighbours and tenants.
In addition to support tasks like multi-agency liaison and advocacy; the Support Workers at the scheme take a lead on ensuring safe homes are provided to our customers and will support customers to raise repairs, keep on top of their rent and service charge, and monitor for Health and Safety issues around the sites.

Shift Patterns
This is a 24 hour service and will require the flexibility to work a shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays in turn as part of a team. We’re looking for Support Workers to join our team in a supported living home in Woodhall Spa, where four gentlemen aged 50–62 live life to the fullest. This is a joyful, music-filled home where laughter is part of everyday life.
The gentlemen love singing, playing instruments, baking, and cooking together so if you enjoy music and food, you’ll feel right at home. One gentleman especially enjoys being out, whether it’s a drive, a walk, or exploring somewhere new.
You’ll provide person-centred support with daily routines, personal care, mobility (including wheelchair use when out and about), and appointments. You’ll also play a key role in encouraging independence and supporting social interests. Staff work in pairs during the day, with lone working only for planned 1:1 support or after 8pm, ensuring strong teamwork.
Shifts include days and waking nights, with early and late shifts (8am–10pm) and alternate weekends so flexibility is important.

At Turning Point, we support people with Learning Disabilities across England.
As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference to residents' lives as you improve their daily living skills. Passionate about people, you will enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress with us.
Where will I be working?
We are providing support for adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
The Service is very close to the town in Ossett. There are three individuals, 2 male and 1 female that we support who have varying levels of Learning Disabilities. The bungalow is beautifully placed close to the main road, close to the M1, bus station and amenities . There are health issues such as epilepsy, mobility issues and a requirement of personal care. The people we support enjoy various activities like walking, attending various social groups, going to the pub, Theme Parks, shopping and holidays. Staff support them in their own vehicles (the clients). The people we support do have pets which include, a dog, cat, fish and chickens that we help support looking after.
You will be required to provide a person-centred approach in all aspects of the client’s lives, including managing their home, some personal care, accessing their local community facilities, and maintaining contact with other important people in their lives. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible. You will be supporting people who have learning disabilities, Autism and other health conditions. You may be asked to attend GP appointments and hospital appointments. A full UK driving license is preferable.
We use a digital social care record system, to support daily recording, which will make your day-to-day tasks easier and allows you to spend more time with the People We Support.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:00am to 2:00/3:00pm and 2:00/3:00 pm to 9:00/10:00pm, sleep ins or waking nights, some weekends.

Role Responsibility
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- promoting the independence of people we support
- supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- helping residents stay safe and healthy
- assisting with personal care needs
- manual handling
- supporting people with medication
- ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.

What skills and qualities do I need to have?
Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. What is essential is that you are:
- passionate, caring and enthusiastic
- flexible, patient and non-judgemental
- a great team player with lots of energy
- able to demonstrate good communication skills
- able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed
- transferable experience of helping people to manage anxiety

About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you’ll work as part of a team in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for the people who use our services. You’ll do this by providing practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives.
Main Responsibilities:
This Support Worker role working at our Clydebank service involves working dayshift and backshift patterns over a 4-week rolling rota which includes alternative weekend work. This role involves working 35 hours per week. The Support Worker will:
- work as part of a team providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people.
- support, review, monitor and evaluate through our case management system, to achieve a positive person-centred outcome for the people we work with in line with organisational, statutory and legislative requirements.
- maintain and update all recording systems and documentation in line with relevant policies, procedures and practice guidelines, including the occupancy agreement, within required timeframes.
- provide, plan and facilitate key work meetings, key work sessions, meetings, reviews and other internal/external meetings in conjunction with the person’s support plan.
- provide general advocacy and advice to the people we support, including assistance to enable them to meet the conditions of their occupancy agreements.
