About the Role
As a Recovery Worker, you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating service users to engage in the recovery programmes we offer in Devon.
Our service welcomes people at any stage in their recovery journey, starting with the open end of harm reduction, through to brief interventions, extended interventions and structured treatment, and Recovery Workers offer support throughout.
Day to day duties include:
Working autonomously to manage a caseload of our service users, including delivering a range of psychosocial interventions.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake ongoing assessments, risk assessments, and appropriate referrals within the community
Facilitating group sessions with a range of individuals of varying backgrounds.
Working with partnership agencies to ensure continuity of care and support.
Providing duty cover for individuals accessing our services.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:
We’re looking for an individual with a real passion for working in a recovery focused environment. You’ll hold some transferable skills, ideally from working in a similar environment or sector. Full training and support will be offered in all aspects of this role.
You’ll also have:
A knowledge and understanding of substance misuse and recovery
Experience of managing, planning, and prioritising your own workload, delivering work of a high standard
An understanding of safeguarding
An understanding of group working, group dynamics and group facilitation.
Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills

The role focuses on providing high-quality support to individuals in mental health crisis. You will assist clients during their stay, helping to reduce immediate distress and develop plans to prevent future crises. This includes working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary mental health services to ensure effective, multi-agency support. You will have demonstrable experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis needs, with a strong understanding of a range of mental health conditions, crisis management, and how to communicate with dignity and respect. You will be knowledgeable in relevant mental health legislation, including CPA processes, and committed to recovery-focused approaches. Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you will support and induct peer staff and volunteers while working effectively with statutory services such as the NHS. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working Monday to Sunday between 9am–5pm, including bank holidays.

The Role
We’re looking for a Recovery Worker to support individuals through their rehabilitation journey. You’ll work closely with residents, therapists, and partner agencies to ensure each person receives the tailored care they need to recover and thrive.
Key Responsibilities

Longview House is a 24hr Registered Mental Health Care Home, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health/addiction to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a 24hr staffed service to our residents aged 18 - 67.

We are looking for a committed Drug & Alcohol Recovery Worker to join our team, working within an integrated healthcare framework to support service users aged 18 and over. You’ll be delivering a combination of harm reduction and abstinence-based interventions, tailored to the needs of each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of clients with drug and/or alcohol issues
- Deliver psychosocial interventions through structured 1:1 sessions and group work
- Provide harm reduction advice, guidance and education

We’re looking for enthusiastic Senior Learning Practitioner's to join our warm and dedicated Sixth Form team.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for passionate and motivated Senior Learning Practitioner's to take the next steps in their career in education. The successful candidates will compliment the work of the class teachers by planning, preparing and delivering creative learning activities for students.
Working closely with teaching staff and therapists, you’ll play a key part in helping learners achieve their goals, gain confidence, and enjoy their school experience in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
What you'll do
- Work alongside the teacher with lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson plans
- Assist with development and implementation of individual learning, behaviour and support plans
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups with their learning, communication, and independence
- Promote a positive classroom environment that values diversity, respect, and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide personal care and administer medication when needed (with full training provided)
- Contribute to a team that celebrates progress and nurtures potential — every single day.
About you
We welcome applications from candidates with previous experience of working with children or young people in a learning environment as well as good literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE Grade C (or equivalent).
Successful Candidates must;
- Have previous experience in an education or care setting
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Teaching & Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
- Excellent organisational skills with good ICT knowledge
- Able to support with personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect
- Willingness to learn, grow and be part of something meaningful
