All Saints’ Ockbrook has a growing congregation of different ages and a desire to bless all those around us. Our worship services are relatively informal, with a music group and variety of leaders and preachers.
Existing weekly activities include Shining Stars, a busy pre-school group, a Wednesday after-school Youth Café, Sunday Night Saints (a lively teenage group), and Rise & Shine (a Sunday morning group for 4 to 12-year-olds). We run a summer holiday club and a youth weekend away, enjoy periodic interactive all age (4ALL) services, and have experimented with breakfast services for families with pre-school children and babies. There are strong connections with the 3 primary schools in our parish, where the children’s coordinator is warmly welcomed to take assemblies and be involved in their activities.
You will have a strong Christian faith, have worked or volunteered with children or young people, and be passionate about encouraging children, young people, and their volunteer helpers. You will be educated to A-Level (or degree standard) or have an equivalent level of experience of working with children and/or young people.
This is available as a full-time position (37.5 hours a week), or as two part-time positions for a children’s coordinator and a youth coordinator (19 hours a week). In both cases, candidates can choose to work 52 weeks a year or 41 weeks a year mainly in term-time. You will receive close support including at the weekly church leadership meetings, and during regular one-to-ones with our vicar.
The salary for a full-time, full-year position is £27,441 with 28 days’ holiday including bank holidays. Salary and holidays will be pro-rata if working part-time and/or fewer weeks.

I am looking for someone to support my 11 -year-old son who is non-verbal with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as an intellectual disability and who lives with me. The current situation is that my son has difficulty engaging in any after school activities due to a lack of routine.
The aim would be to assist me and my son building up confidence in getting him engaged more with activities outside home such as swimming in particular as the aquatic environment is beneficial to improve his mood and provide exercise. He also very much enjoys trampolining. The long-term goal is to establish a safe routine for my son to get settled in out of school activities to such a degree that I can also spend more time with my other teenage daughter who currently lives with her grandparents.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in or training towards Allied Healthcare/Education disciplines such as Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Education/Child Development. The main part of the post is to support a young 11-year-old boy to pursue his hobbies/interests and provide support with learning and communication through play. Direction will be given by myself and full training will be provided on the job.
Applicant will support the boy using behavioural strategies and techniques, communication method such as PECS, sensory and emotional strategies.
- Duties will include supporting the child to undertake a variety of social, learning activities including building up confidence in travelling in public transport.
- Initially shadowing and working alongside me as the boy’s mum in order to increase confidence in developing routines outside the family home so that my son becomes settled enough to pursue social activities with the support worker and independently from his mum’s presence.
- The post consists in 6 hours per week after school hours, worked flexibly doing 2-3 shifts per week to be negotiated.
- The hourly rate is £12.87 per hour.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children with ASD as well as how to handle potential ‘meltdowns’ essential although training will be provided and the work will initially consist in shadowing and working in partnership with the boy’s parent. The role would be beneficial for those studying or have a background in education, psychology, and speech and language therapy.
- Applicants will be required to join the PVG scheme if not already a member, fees will be covered by the employer.

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Tutor to work as part of the Catering and Tutor team at Freeman College.
This role will be based between our sites at Sterling Works in the city centre and also at High Riggs, our outdoor site in Stannington where you will be responsible for cooking a lunch time meal for all staff and students at the site you are working that day.
You will be responsible for all aspects of this catering area in conjunction with the Catering Manager.
You will be responsible for supporting work experience students and students assigned to the catering sessions on site to achieve their targets and progress with their learning. You will need to complete reports based on your observations of students.
