Job description
Job Purpose
To provide in-depth technical expertise in immunology and inflammatory diseases (e.g. Rheumatoid arthritis) and provide advice on the creation, set up and best operation of technical resources to aid the delivery of research and/or teaching objectives. This will include undertaking flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, cell culture and molecular biology. In addition, the postholder will undertake a range of technical support activities in line with the College/Institute/School Strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide in-depth technical support to academic and student service users within the specified discipline or assigned research project. Contribute to the overall smooth and efficient running of the lab to ensure an excellent experience for service users.
2. Provide in-depth technical knowledge, solutions, and advice to service users to maximise the learning experience and/or contribute to the delivery of research objectives.
3. Develop, create, and test new equipment, systems, procedures, protocols, models and/or techniques. Diagnose faults and troubleshoot day-to-day problems carrying out appropriate maintenance as required.
4. Design, plan and organise technical activities to meet the needs of service users within agreed timescales.
5. In liaison with relevant senior staff, monitor technical standards. Advise, implement and evaluate improvements to existing protocols as required.
6. Collect, analyse, and interpret data using standard procedures and ensure that accurate records are kept, and databases are updated accordingly. Present findings accurately. This may include research and/or teaching related data.
7. To advise, train and provide guidance to service users in the best application and operation of technical resources.
8. Where relevant, maintain appropriate stock levels, including appropriate preparation of specialised media and samples as required, and purchase consumables and supplies within defined budget. Ensure safe implementation and ongoing storage of potentially hazardous materials.
9. Where relevant, and in consultation with relevant senior staff, ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the technical workspace and facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting the completion of risk assessments and COSHH assessments, ensuring that all Health and Safety paperwork is completed timeously and recorded accurately, and implementing and adhering to all applicable health and safety policies, including specialist legal procedures for certain materials.
10. Where relevant supervise staff including allocating work and monitoring progress and outputs.
11. In roles within teaching laboratories, undertake general administration as required. This may include recording student attendance and collating student assessment marks for feedback to the academic lead.
12. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in team meetings/discussions and contribute to the wider College/Institute/School activities as required.
13. Keep up to date with advances in the relevant discipline and apply this knowledge to technical activities to further enhance the learning experience and/or contribute to the delivery of research aims.

Relief Cover Staff step in to cover staff absences including holidays, training and sickness. The role involves supporting one-to-one, or leading small groups of workers, in their work at Brunswick. You will create a safe and positive environment which offers opportunities for workers to develop their practical and social skills; and help them build self-confidence to be an active and valued member of the Brunswick community.
We need cover for a range of work areas, and your knowledge and/or practical experience will be at a level where you can confidently lead and support others with tasks. For instance, staff who cover horticulture tend to have either a horticulture qualification or experience of working in a related role. We’re looking for people who already have knowledge and experience in at least one of these work areas: Cooking, administration and events planning, shop, one-to-one support, crafts, garden services, plant production, land crops, and woodwork. Cover is mostly booked in advance e.g. to cover holidays but is also required at short notice e.g. to cover illness on the day. Our ideal candidates therefore would expect to sometimes be available to respond to short notice cover requests.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience of supporting people with a range of skills and abilities.
- Ability to motivate others and create a positive and rewarding environment.
- Confident skills/experience in at least one of the work areas mentioned above.
- Knowledge and ideally experience of building inclusion.
- Good IT skills.

About the Role:
Whether you are a newly qualified lifeguard looking to gain some practical experience, or an experienced lifeguard wanting to give back in your free time, we have opportunities for Volunteer Lifeguards to patrol alongside our employed teams. You’ll help provide a professional, lifesaving service on beaches across the UK and Channel Islands.
The RNLI has been operating a lifeguard service since 2001, and it is now an essential part of our commitment to saving lives at sea. In 2026, our teams will be patrolling over 250 beaches, from busy resorts to semi-rural surfing spots, each with unique challenges and duties.
As a Volunteer Lifeguard, you’ll help keep beach goers safe through vigilant patrolling, delivering water safety advice, and performing rescues when needed. Duties may include working from static units, patrolling on foot, or using rescue boards, tubes, all-terrain vehicles, or rescue watercraft depending on the beach.
About You:
To join as a Volunteer Lifeguard, you should be:
- Passionate about lifesaving and helping others stay safe.
- A team player who is approachable, professional, and proactive.
- Physically fit and able to meet the required competency standards.
- Qualified with a valid ILS-recognised beach lifeguard award (or overseas equivalent).
- Able to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)/police check, and meet health and eyesight requirements.
You must be at least 16 years old and of school leaving age. Some areas may have fewer posts for under 18s due to safeguarding requirements. Non-EU residents will need documentation from the UK Boarder agency confirming their right to volunteer in the UK.
Although flexible in terms of hours, we recommend a minimum contribution of 80 hours across the season to gain the full experience.

Hours of work:

About the role
National Star has a fantastic new opportunity for a Night Lead Facilitator. The Night Lead Facilitator will support the Residential Deputy Night Manager in the successful running of all the residences on campus during the night by ensuring that the highest standards of care are provided to the service users, as well as ensuring the optimum health and wellbeing of service users at all times

About the role

A varied and fulfilling role that offers invaluable experience of working in our beautiful and vibrant Art department. Responsibilities include ceramic technician work including kiln management, some teaching of extra-curricular ceramics clubs, in class support across the disciplines. About the Drive Project (Bradford)
The Drive Project is not a pilot or test programme, It is a well-established national model, currently being rolled out across England, reflecting sustained national commitment to coordinated, whole-system responses to domestic abuse. In Bradford, the service is being delivered by The Bridge Project in partnership with the Drive Central Team and West Yorkshire Combined Authority and will be fully embedded within local safeguarding and partnership arrangements from the outset.
The Drive Project works with individuals who pose the highest risk of causing serious harm within intimate or family relationships. The programme combines intensive individual case management with a coordinated multi-agency response, creating the conditions for accountability, behaviour change and sustained risk reduction, while keeping victim and survivor safety at the centre of all activity.
The Bradford Drive service will be delivered by a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team, and we are recruiting to all posts comprising of:
- 1 Service Manager (full time),providing operational leadership, safeguarding oversight, model fidelity and day-to-day supervision and management of the service
- 4 full time Case Managers, working directly with individuals who cause harm to challenge abusive behaviour, promote responsibility, and sustain engagement over time
- 2 full time Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs), providing specialist, victim-centred advocacy, safety planning and risk management; IDVAs receive additional external clinical supervision alongside in-house specialist support
- 1 full time Panel Coordinator, responsible for managing the Drive Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Panel, including intelligence flow, action tracking and multi-agency coordination
The team will operate with fidelity to the Drive model, a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework, balancing challenge and accountability with engagement and support. Staff will work closely a range of systems and service such as police, probation, children’s and adult safeguarding, housing, health and specialist adult and child domestic abuse services to ensure a coordinated and effective response to high-risk harm and victim/ survivor safety.
Funding and Retention
The Drive Programme is currently funded through a Home Office national programme. While funding beyond March 2027 remains subject to government spending reviews and funding cycles, Drive is a well-established, evidence-based model that is currently under national roll-out, reflecting continued national prioritisation of whole-system responses to high-harm domestic abuse.
In recognition of the commitment involved in joining a time-limited, externally funded programme, the organisation offers a £2,000 retention payment. Working in partnership, Waythrough and the Bridge Project, are providing temporary accommodation on behalf of Bradford Metropolitan District Council as part of their Bradford Temporary Accommodation Service. Our service supports women who present as homeless to the Local Authority.
Our Bradford Temporary Accommodation service will provide accommodation to women who were homeless and have a history or risk of offending. They will receive flexible support, in groups or one to one, whilst tenants in our properties in Bradford and Keighley.

We are excited to introduce the new Housing Officer role, created to support the delivery of high-quality housing support and management services within the Bradford Temporary Accommodation Service (BTAS).
As part of our dedicated housing team, you will play a key role in delivering effective housing management by working directly with tenants who have complex needs and come from diverse backgrounds. Your work will be instrumental in helping vulnerable and homeless individuals sustain their accommodation and rebuild their lives.

Key responsibilities will include:
The Housing Officer will Work in partnership with the BTAS team and Bradford Met council and other key stakeholders to identify referrals, meet prospective service users and undertake comprehensive assessments of their support needs and their appropriateness for the service.
Prepare Tenant Licence/AST Agreements, ensuring they are signed and managed appropriately.
Manage the Right to Rent in the UK process, ensuring all tenants meet the required legislation.
Support the tenancy toolkit process and deliver Tenant Welcome Packs, Expectations Agreements and House Rules.
Manage the Void process, monitoring Void units and working with the housing manager, Repairs team, housing management team and support teams to ensure they are filled within a timely manner.
Carry out tenancy property inspections, ensuring all required works are completed and within the agreed timescales.
Record comprehensive case notes, input information onto the database promptly and maintain any other relevant Management Information Systems as required.
Carry out a Home Safety risk assessment alongside the client to identify risks within the home.
