The purpose of the Senior Out Of School Childcare & Education Practitioner is:-
To have a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of high quality childcare and education services for a diverse range of children attending North Edinburgh Childcare’s Out Of School Services.
To supervise the day to day work of team members and maintain an overview of the provision.
To be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy club for children aged 5-12 years.
The successful applicant will have experience of working with primary school aged children and be able to work as part of a team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high quality out of school care service.
Practitioners will have a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of a variety of settings and they must be able to promote the learning, development and all-round well-being of children by identifying and meeting their care, support and learning needs, as well as being able to oversee the work of others.
The successful candidate will be able to create a safe and stimulating environment that provides children with opportunities for overall development and will be able to take responsibility for groups of children as and when required within the provision and whilst on outings.
The successful individual must ensure promotion of the highest standards of practice by adhering to North Edinburgh Childcare’s policies and procedures, work practice documents and Competency Framework at all times.

About the Job
We are looking for someone with management experience to manage the Durham Dispersed housing in County Durham. This is a service with 30 properties which are available to house people of County Durham who are assessed via the Durham County housing and homeless team. The properties are made up of 15 assessment centre places and 15 longer term supported placements. The team is made up of 3 dedicated support staff who provide the support and housing management to the residents. As part of the team, you will lead them and assist with the running of the service and ensure that high quality support and high-quality housing is given, with support from the areas Service Manager and Operational Lead.
Project Management:
Deliver and manage the project to the agreed quality standards and good practice protocols, ensuring a creative learning environment is developed.
Provide robust and effective line management to the team, ensuring appropriate line management, supervision and performance management and that staff operate in accordance with the appropriate models of service and policies / procedures
Ensure that all team members adhere to the required training standards and are equipped to undertake their duties to a high standard.
Ensure all staff maintain high quality case notes, records and all core documentation are completed in a timely manner.
Undertake caseload audits on a regular basis to ensure that records are robust, adhere to a high level of case recording and are compliant with organisational requirements.

As ETE Officer you will:

Hold a caseload of young people aged 16-24, providing weekly face-to-face mentoring and flexible drop-in support;

Carry out initial 1:1 diagnostic assessments to identify strengths, goals, barriers and wider support needs, co-designing personalised action plans with young people focused on ETE and personal development;

Support young people with CV writing, job applications and interview preparation;

Deliver workplace readiness and life skills sessions;

As a Recreation Assistant working on a shift basis to include evenings and weekends, you are responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of our users and delivering an excellent customer experience. This will include inspecting facilities for cleanliness, complete general cleaning, maintenance duties at regular points throughout your shift. You will also be required to ensure users follow safe practice, enforce, adhere to centre rules and regulations.
You will be customer focused and able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of users. You may also be required to provide coaching and teaching services to customers.

Part Time Accommodation Support Officer- (Hastings)
Job Role
Join our team as an Accommodation Support Officer and support our participants with their housing needs.
You’ll work with a caseload of adult males either residing within a custody environment or on license within the community. environment. In partnership with probation practitioners, you’ll complete initial assessments to understand their specific needs, and then create tailored accommodation plans to meet this through an agreed number of interventions. This will include ensuring that the participants are aware of any decisions that affect them, plus informing them of their rights within the process.

Eleanor Rathbone Professor of Contemporary European History

The Faculty of History is seeking applications for the Eleanor Rathbone Professorship of Contemporary European History, available as soon as possible.
This new senior post is intended to reinforce Oxford’s reputation as a major centre for research and teaching in the field of Contemporary European History. We wish to appoint a historian who will extend the Faculty’s expertise into the history of the European present. We would welcome applications from scholars with expertise in the history of Europe from the 1970s onwards and who engage with the history of the European present in the early twenty-first century and the profound changes that have taken place in many areas of Europe over the last twenty-five years.
The Rathbone Professor will be based at St Antony’s College, where they will maintain and develop the legacy of the work and scholarship undertaken on the contemporary history of Europe by Professor Timothy Garton Ash. It is intended that the appointee will be an established scholar who will combine innovative scholarship and teaching with a wider profile of intellectual engagement. Their work should engage with the history of contemporary Europe as a whole, challenging conventional paradigms of east and west in the era of the Cold War. They will be expected to lead the growth of Contemporary European History within Oxford, including new teaching options on recent and current European history, funded grant applications, workshops, public events and outreach, broadly defined.
Applicants should possess an excellent record of innovative archival research using one or more European languages; a significant record of publications; the capacity to inspire others; and an ability to communicate the importance of history for an understanding of the contemporary identity of Europe.
