We are seeking a qualified (or soon-to-qualify) Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our team as a High Intensity Therapist. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to adults from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, both in one-to-one and group settings, in line with IAPT guidance.
In this role, you will assess service users’ suitability for interventions and deliver high intensity CBT to support their recovery and wellbeing. Alongside your clinical work, you will provide line management and clinical supervision to a Senior PWP, as well as take on case management, leadership responsibilities, and represent the service in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
This role requires a flexible, team-focused individual who can adapt to the needs of the organisation, work across sites, and build strong collaborative relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners. At times, you may be the most senior representative on site, making leadership, professionalism, and integrity vital to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high intensity, evidence-based CBT interventions (individual and group).
- Assess suitability of service users for psychological interventions.
- Provide line management, clinical supervision, and support to Senior PWPs.
- Manage cases effectively and contribute to leadership duties, including report writing and MDT meetings.
- Work flexibly across sites to meet the needs of the service.
- Build collaborative working relationships with managers, colleagues, and partner agencies.
- Support the service in achieving agreed outcomes and targets.
Essential Criteria
- Qualification (or soon to qualify) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Experience working with adults with mental health difficulties, ideally in a primary care or IAPT setting.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice sector and/or community services.
- Experience managing and developing staff, including providing line management and clinical supervision.
- Demonstrated competence as a psychological therapy practitioner (as outlined in Roth & Pilling 2007).
- Strong organisational and workload management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Understanding of the need for evidence-based interventions (low and high intensity).
- Ability to reflect on and develop own practice.
- Flexibility to meet service needs, including working across different sites.
- Ability to apply training effectively into practice.
All prison-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.

Two years later, they opened a helpline service for women who had experienced sexual harm, initially operating on a very limited budget and for two hours a week, with no premises of their own and the bare minimum of equipment. In the years since then BSARCS has grown beyond recognition and in the year 2024/25 we provided specialist therapy, advocacy and support to around 1500 women, men and children who have experienced sexual violence or harm as well as to their relatives. In the same year, we also delivered specialist training courses to over 800 professionals in the borough. BSARCS is governed by a Board of Trustees and currently has around 30 individuals working from our Barnsley premises, including our CEO, Business Support Team, Training & Development Team, Adult Services and Children’s Services. We also have a team of volunteers supporting our work. About the role South Yorkshire Sexual Violence Partnership (SYSVP) is made up of four specialist sexual violence partners in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield to deliver a regional ISVA service, commissioned by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA). Each partner employs Independent Sexual Violence Advocates (ISVA) to deliver advocacy, practical and emotional support to survivors of sexual violence and abuse, both within and outside of the criminal justice system. You will be joining an existing team and will provide high quality support and advocacy to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse or harm, and to their families, using a trauma informed approach. What You’ll Be Doing:
Response are recruiting for a Homeless Support Worker within Adult Services, Settled Oxfordshire, to help people who have had experiences of street homelessness, and repeated placements within supported and crisis housing services to sustain their own tenancy, live independently, and move-on into mainstream accommodation. Working closely in partnership with a range of other providers, both voluntary and statutory, you will have the support and guidance of the Service Manager to provide a housing management, support and move-on service to a small group of vulnerable people who have recently experienced homelessness. The accommodation will be located within Oxford City and throughout the County. Overall job responsibility:
Some of the core duties include:
- To provide an intensive support and housing management service to a caseload of 9 or 10 clients through proactive floating support.
- To ensure that each client has a comprehensive support plan with achievable goals and outcomes and a robust risk assessment and that both documents will be updated regularly with input of client and other professionals delivering support interventions.
- To provide person centred support to the clients and recognise that they are experts by experience.
- To work with each successful referral to identify interventions that will allow the client to move into the accommodation, sustain their home, and identify and plan for the factors/ challenges that might destabilise their tenancy.
- Supporting clients with benefit applications, affordability assessments and repayment plans.
- To conduct regular visit to the accommodation and support the clients with practical skills such as budgeting, cleaning, etc
- To ensure that the clients will engage with agencies providing support with addressing needs such as substance misuse, offending, accessing education, employment and training.
- To ensure that clients are encouraged to engage in meaningful activities.
- To ensure that the properties are safe and compliant with Health and Safety regulations
- To ensure that internal and external stakeholders and partnership agencies are informed about progress of each client.
- Provide a housing management service for the clients, including dealing with rent arrears, managing anti-social behaviour, dealing with other breaches of the tenancy agreement, serving notices and reporting and ordering any repairs.
- Be aware of early signs of abuse, potential safeguarding and ensure that reporting procedures are followed when Safeguarding is triggered.
- To provide regular reports on the progress of each case.
- To support the client with understanding their move on options and create a realistic move on plan for each client including increasing living skills, preparing for and finding work, move on, budgeting, substance misuse and much more.
