nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
nia is a professionally approved member of Rape Crisis England and Wales; an umbrella organisation supporting Rape Crisis Centres across the country. Rape Crisis is completely independent of the government and the criminal justice system.
East London Rape Crisis provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not they have reported to the police. We offer confidential and independent support. Services include advocacy, emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling and group work. The service is provided across Barking & Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Redbridge, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
We form part of the London Sexual Violence Alliance. The Alliance brings together 225 years of expertise and experience and represents a bold, visionary and survivor-centred resource. The Alliance consists of eight members. Seven are organisations that have historically, and or currently, provide support for victims/survivors. MOPAC is the eighth member, primarily sitting at the oversight and leadership governance level.
Note: each organisation continues to be an independent charity, so the Alliance is not a legal entity.

About Fiji
Fiji is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean about 1,100 nautical miles northeast of New Zealand's North Island.
Its closest neighbours are Vanuatu to the west, New Caledonia to the southwest, New Zealand's Kermadec Islands to the southeast, Tonga to the east, the Samoas and France's Wallis and Futuna to the northeast, and Tuvalu to the north.
Fiji is an archipelago of more than 330 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited, and more than 500 islets, amounting to a total land area of about 18,300 square kilometres (7,100 sq mi). The majority of Fiji's islands were formed through volcanic activity.
The two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the total population of 898,760. The capital, Suva on Viti Levu, serves as Fiji's principal cruise port. About three-quarters of Fijians live on Viti Levu's coasts, either in Suva or in smaller urban centres like Nadi or Lautoka.
Fiji has one of the most developed economies in the Pacific due to an abundance of forest, mineral, and fish resources. Fiji's main industries are tourism and sugar exports.
The climate in Fiji is tropical marine and warm year round with minimal extremes. The warm season is from November to April and the cooler season lasts from May to October. Temperatures in the cool season still average 22 °C (72 °F). Nice!
The population of Fiji is mostly made up of native Fijians, who are Melanesians (54.3%), although many also have Polynesian ancestry, and Indo-Fijians (38.1%), descendants of Indian contract labourers brought to the islands by the British colonial powers in the 19th century.
The concept of family and community is of great importance to Fijian culture. Within the indigenous communities many members of the extended family will adopt particular titles and roles of direct guardians. Kinship is determined through a child's lineage to a particular spiritual leader, so that a clan is based on traditional customary ties as opposed to actual biological links.
Rugby Union is the most-popular team sport played in Fiji.

Support Worker Waking Nights
Support Worker Waking Nights
Job reference:005092
Salary:£12.30 per hour
Closing date:31/01/2026
Location:Stoke Mandeville
Job Description
Waking Nights Support Worker – 18 hours a week
Are you looking for night work? Would you like to support adults with learning disabilities if they wake during the night?
We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our friendly team of Support Workers in Stoke Mandeville! Even though it is a night time position, we all know a good night’s sleep is important for how we feel the next day, so you will be making a real difference in someone’s life even when they are asleep.
The role is a part-time position 2 nights per week 10:00pm - 7:00am
What will you be doing?
As a Waking Nights Support Worker, your main role will be regularly checking in on the people who draw on our support whilst they sleep, making sure that everything is ok and that they are getting a good night’s sleep. Sometimes they wake-up during the night, and so you will then support them in whatever they may need. This may be reassuring and chatting with them so that they are able to go back to sleep, or providing support with personal care and medication. Most importantly, your role is to make sure the people who draw on our support are safe and do not feel vulnerable throughout the night.
You will support three individuals who have been living together since 2014. They enjoy getting out and about as much as possible, whether that's cycling, bowling, swimming, going on holiday or to the cinema so a good nights sleep is essential.
All three individuals are non-verbal, so you'll learn how to communicate using visual tools and verbal prompts. You'll discover that every tiny thing you do has an impact, and when you get it right, you'll know you've got it right: you'll see someone's body relax or their eyes light up.
"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding.
