We are looking for Nursery Practitioners at our nursery which offers childcare places for up to 100 children, providing a welcoming environment where families can feel valued and obtain positive help and support. Responsibilities for the role of a Nursery Practitioner include but aren’t limited to:
- Contributing to promoting good practice and maintaining a high-quality provision
- Completing observations, planning, and prepare a variety of learning enriched activities for your key group using the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Offering support and guidance to parents/carers enabling them to extend their own skills, and by boosting their confidence and self-esteem, ensure the emotional wellbeing of their child.

About the Role
As the first point of contact for our Children’s Home, you’ll play a vital role in helping our team stay on top of daily admin, reporting and communication. Working closely with the management team and other departments, your skills will ensure that every child’s experience at St Elizabeth’s is supported by efficient, thoughtful processes behind the scenes.
What you’ll do:
- Provide responsive admin and secretarial support to the Children’s Home management team
- Handle queries from families, professionals and colleagues with warmth and professionalism
- Support the preparation and submission of reports to regulatory bodies
- Arrange and attend key meetings, take minutes, and circulate documentation
- Monitor actions and ensure deadlines are met across key operational areas
- Contribute to the positive, can-do culture of the wider care team
About You
You’re highly organised, a great communicator, and enjoy working in a role where no two days are the same. You understand the importance of discretion, especially in a setting that supports children and young people with additional needs.
- Experience in a busy admin or secretarial role, ideally in health, social care or education
- Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Friendly and confident when dealing with external partners, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge or understanding of children’s residential care settings is desirable but not essential

The Role:
SENDIASS Volunteer Practitioner
Duties may include all or some of the following-
General administrative support:
- Updating our database using our internal systems
- Sending out general IAS emails to support the service delivery
- Maintaining the safe and secure filing of personal data at all times
- Monitoring and recording contacts with the service (phone calls, voicemails, emails, Facebook queries)
Telephone Advice Line:
- Working with confidential information
- Capturing key information during the initial calls
- Providing information, advice and support as required
Face-to-face consultations:
- Supporting parents and young people to understand, interpret and/or complete relevant SEND paperwork
Focused support:
- Supporting parents and young people to understand and exercise their rights around a particular issue; and/or express their views and take part in discussions, for example, in a meeting with school, at Education, Health and Care Plan annual review meetings
Training and publicity:
- Supporting at our training sessions for parents and/ or professionals
- Attending events such as school SEND coffee mornings to publicise the service and offer information, advice and support to attendees
Personal Qualities:
Please note these are desirable but not essential
- Experience of working with/supporting families of disabled children and young people
- Being a confident communicator
- Being a confident IT user, with the ability to navigate bespoke database systems; MS Outlook; MS Excel and MS Word
- Having great interpersonal skills

- Deliver 1-to-1 housing advice and interventions within the prison environment

- Prevent homelessness by securing and sustaining suitable accommodation
