You will be instructing, coaching and teaching designated activities as appropriate to the level of ability, age range and target groups. You will be organising and carrying out lesson plans and assessments, ensuring the safe use and storage of equipment, whilst providing customers with confidence in the water.

As a Swimming Teacher you'll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Swim Officers/Swim Co-ordinators within our venues and work alongside an established team of teachers. Don't worry if you are new to teaching or don't have a lot of experience; we can provide support from our Lead Teachers and Tutors who can help bring out the best in you! If you have the right aptitude and enthusiasm; we will work with you to make you the best teacher possible

This role is to work within our evening & weekends programme where our shifts are Monday to Friday 3:40-8pm, Saturday 8:40am-1pm and Sunday 8:40am-1pm and 2:40-7pm.
If you're interested in joining us as a Swimming Teacher, you'll must have one of the following qualifications:
- Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification (SSTQ)
- UKCC Level 1 OR UKCC L2 Swim Teachers Qualification
- STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming (unfortunately we cannot accept STA Award in Teaching Swimming)
Other qualifications may be considered if they are comparable to the above
We are also looking for candidates who have the following essentials:
- Experience/knowledge and enthusiasm of working with children ages 4yrs and above in a group environment
- Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
- The ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our core programme
Our city-wide contracts mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations. We currently operate our lessons across 6 pools in Glasgow; Scotstoun, Tollcross, Bellahouston, Maryhill, Pollok and Gorbals with Springburn to be re-introduced as our 7th venue after their essential upgrades are completed.

You will apply your knowledge about learning and the modes of learning to plan and deliver aspects of the Steiner Waldorf Curriculum within the assessment framework of the National Curriculum in addition to their subject area.
You will ensure that students develop basic skills in numeracy, literacy, ICT and core learning skills, together with social skills and will provide opportunities for students to practice and develop these skills, assessing their progress in accordance with the school’s assessment schedule and curriculum policy.
You Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status,
- Experience of the National Curriculum framework of assessment,
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A practical approach to engaging pupils.
- Experience of working with children with learning difficulties and/or learning disabilities.
- Experience within specialist education and the Steiner Waldorf Curriculum is desirable.

Job Title: Puppy Support Trainer
Location: Centre Based (The Grange, Saunderton or Beatrice Wright Centre, York)

Salary: £13.45 per hour
The Puppy Support Trainer role contains aspects of the early dog training framework from eight-weeks whilst the puppy is based at the centre, until placed with a next stage volunteer and Dog Training Instructor.
Key Objectives:
- Responsibility for the day to day running centre-based daycare activities, ensuring high quality routines, care and appropriate early learning and dog behaviour development. Focus is on early life skills of relaxed interactions and good rest patterns.
- Ensure the dog’s social, emotional, and environmental development is optimised for the puppy’s age, so that as the dog moves to a volunteer training home, they can continue to develop and achieve a standard high enough to be placed in a working role.
- Where an allocated puppy/young dog has a support volunteer ensure they receive the right level of support and advice for their personal situation.
- Care for the health and development for a group of up puppies. Follow our feeding, sleeping and early training plans to help our dog’s development
- Maintain records of the pups in your care. This will include sleeping patterns, feeding routines, toileting routines, and training exercises.
- Full hand over to teammates.
- Delivering basic hands-on puppy training with specific dogs developing their social behaviour and handling to the required level as appropriate to their age.
- Where relevant, providing support to volunteers on a one-to-one basis to all aspects of physical & social puppy development from allocated Hearing Dogs centre.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of puppy areas, toys and equipment and the wider working environment.
- Ensure appropriate Health and safety and infection control to meet the needs of young puppies.
- Communicate any urgent requirements to the Hearing Dogs Staff team and ensure thorough handovers at the end and beginning of shifts to maintain consistency of care.
