We are seeking to employ individuals for the post of Café Bar Assistants.
We currently have two positions available in our Café Bar team; one contracted 15 hours per week, one casual hours.
Our Café Bar offers freshly prepared food by our in-house chefs, barista-style coffee, and a fantastic drinks menu. Alongside our main space and rooftop terrace bar, The Nest, we also deliver hospitality services for events, screenings, and conferences.
About the Role:
The Café Bar Assistant plays a vital part in the customer experience, ensuring comfort, maintaining a welcoming environment, and supporting both the bar and kitchen teams. You’ll deliver excellent service, help with food and drink orders, and assist in keeping all areas clean, safe, and running smoothly.
You’ll also support the kitchen team by helping with pot washing, cleaning equipment, and maintaining hygiene standards in food prep areas.
We’re looking for individuals with a positive, flexible attitude who are confident working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Experience in hospitality or kitchens is helpful, but not essential – full training will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving customers in a friendly, professional manner
- Supporting the kitchen team with pot washing and general cleaning
- Preparing and delivering hot and cold drinks
- Clearing tables and maintaining a clean café, bar, and kitchen area
- Being knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Phoenix’s products and services
Requirements:
- Must be over 18
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- A friendly, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills
- A willingness to support both front-of-house and kitchen operations
Wage: £12.21 hourly rate

We are looking for an experienced part-time Chef De Partie to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about cooking high quality fresh food. Phoenix is a creative environment, you will be expected to contribute ideas and dishes for the specials boards and will be cooking dishes from around the world.
An £8.5M redevelopment of the venue opened in January 2023, including a new commercial kitchen, expanded and refurbished Café Bar with 150 covers, and new roof garden terrace with bar and events space.
We cater for a wide demographic of people and are developing a significant conferencing and hires business. Phoenix’s Food and Beverage business is driven partly by cinema goers and hires customers. The venue has no natural footfall, and the offer needs to attract customers to choose Phoenix over other significant city centre competition.
You will help to deliver:
- A high quality and consistently attractive, fresh food offering;
- A safe, clean and hygienic working environment;
- Adherence to all food safety regulations;
- Interesting and changing specials boards.
Wage: £12.85 per hour
Hours: 30hrs per week minimum
