Teign Housing are looking for a new Independent Audit Committee Member who will ensure decisions are made with the needs and priorities of our residents in mind. You will be joining us at a time of change and will offer constructive challenge to support strong governance, risk management, and financial oversight.
This is an exciting opportunity to give something back to a socially conscious organisation. We are a local housing association with a strong commitment to our residents and communities. You should have strong audit & risk management experience and feel confident to challenge the status quo when needed.
We will pay a fee of £2,350 per annum and travelling and other miscellaneous expenses will be reimbursed.

We’re now looking for an Estates Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team.

About the Estates Services Supervisor role
Conducting regular inspections and liaising closely with residents, you will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our cleaning and grounds maintenance services, and quickly address any issues. To this end, you will produce detailed monthly KPIs, provide comprehensive induction and training to your team and assist the Estates Services Manager in creating risk assessments, whilst constantly championing Health & Safety compliance. Above all, you will go the extra mile to get the best performance from your team and external contractors, and will make certain that we exceed residents’ expectations every day.
About you
Experienced in team leadership within social housing or a similar setting, you will bring in-depth knowledge of caretaking and cleaning procedures. Equally importantly, you should be familiar with appointing and supervising contractors, implementing maintenance programmes and controlling budgets, and you will require good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations (including COSHH) and housing policy. Finally, formal qualifications such as EHAS Health and Safety and Improving Team Performance CMI 3008 would be very useful, as would a good grounding in legal, contractual and procurement issues.

About the Property Project Coordinator role
Bringing our corporate plan to life, you will drive a wide range of projects to reduce our carbon footprint, minimise our residents’ energy costs and optimise use of our assets. This will involve initiatives across our housing stock, maintaining accurate project records and ensuring effective communication with both partners and residents, whilst making certain that contractors meet agreed health and safety, progress and customer satisfaction targets. At the same time, you will support funding applications, assist with audits, budgets and procurement, so you can expect an extremely high profile and plenty of stimulating challenges.
About you
An experienced and confident administrator, you will bring a high level of computer literacy and proven ability to interpret technical reports and data. Needless to say, you will possess excellent time management and interpersonal skills, and you should be adept at solving problems and comfortable multitasking against strict deadlines.
If you have a background in project management within housing or construction, so much the better, and some awareness of social housing legislation, carbon reduction targets, and retrofit principles would be extremely useful. However, it’s your ability to make things happen, ensure best value and get the most from contractors and budgets that will matter most.

About the Lettings Coordinator role
Delivering a high-quality, customer-focused and efficient lettings service, you will ensure that the correct applicants are selected for the right homes and ensuring they can sustain their tenancy. This will involve placing advertisements, interviewing and shortlisting applicants, conducting background checks and liaising with local authorities and other agencies whilst actively managing your own workload and working to tight deadlines. You will be working with a wide variety of applicants some of which will require lots of support through the process, so you will need excellent communication skills. You will need to be highly flexible and resilient. You will be responsible for ensuring new tenants are fully aware of their legal obligations and what is required of them as a tenant of Teign Housing.
A background in social housing would be very useful, as would familiarity with lettings procedures and relevant legislation, but more importantly, you will be self-motivated and ready to use your initiative to the full. You should have excellent customer service skills and a high level of computer literacy together with great attention to detail. Finally, it is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

As one of our Estates Maintenance Operatives, you will cut grass, maintain hedges and plant shrubs and flowers to create attractive landscapes, resolve enquiries from tenants and oversee Health & Safety compliance in everything you do, giving you plenty of variety and responsibility.
About you
Experienced in all aspects of grounds maintenance, you will hold a clean current driving licence and be capable of using industrial machinery safely. Needless to say, you should share our passion for customer service and be self-motivated, well-organised and hardworking, and you will bring excellent interpersonal skills.
A formal Health & Safety qualification would be very useful, as would a trailer towing licence and some pesticide training, but this is by no means essential as we will provide a comprehensive induction.
