Key Responsibilities
- Evening Support: Meet her taxi at 4:30 PM and provide assistance until 6:30 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, including preparing her meals until I return home.
- Flexible Hours: Hours may increase for evening activities in the community or additional support on Mondays.
- Overnight Care: Four weekend overnight shifts may become available over time as trust is established.

Personal Care Assistant role

Personal Assistant required to provide personal and practical assistance, to enable a disabled gentleman to live independently, in his own home and in the community.
Main duties will be mostly related to clients with ADD and ASD symptoms, such as:
- Assistance with personal care (in order to wash regularly, an example would be preparing a towel, clothes and running the shower)
- Assisting at meal times, meal preparation (the gentleman forgets to eat regularly, and leans towards healthy microwave meals, specifically Gym Kitchen)
- Assistance with laundry tasks; washing clothes and bedding, as needed, and help to keep washing baskets from
- Assistance with admin tasks (remembering and attending appointments, prescriptions, completing forms)
- Assistance with shopping tasks (prompting with this, as the gentleman orders online)
- Assistance with domestic duties (keeping kitchen clean/uncluttered, overflowing bins, washing dishes and cleaning sink)
- Assistance helping the gentleman to manage personal relationships, such as helping with communicating his needs and feelings, such as planning how to approach situations, and communicating in positive ways
- Help the gentleman to recognise when to regulate his feelings and energy levels Escorting to events and outings; (the gentleman has an interest in racing and has a track car), and also assistance during these events, particularly when he is anxious.
- He would appreciate support during signing in process, explanation of rules (this would be completed between 7.00am – 9.00am). The personal assistant would be welcome to leave the event after this, or to join as a passenger if they would like to.

So does all of the above describe you? I am seeking a PA to provide 1:1 support to my 29 year old son who is on the Autistic Spectrum alongside other varying associated conditions. He is a delightful young man with a great sense of humour and gets on brilliantly with his PA's, they have stayed with us for years and we are extremely lucky to have such lovely ones. But we now wish to recruit another to add to our team so that we can expand on opportunities and also to cover for sickness, holidays etc. This will mainly be to take my son out for lunch, to social activities locally or play games in our house. No personal care is required. He is mobile and likes to be independent but can need help to manage unpredictable. He needs someone who can react sensitively but also try to make it a fun, engaging time when out. The right person will be able to develop a friendly understanding rapport who can see the real person from his body language and not the person he sometimes masks to be to please others. Being a friend as well as his mentor, actively boosting his self-esteem and confidence. Although lone working, you will work closely with him and his family so that we share any information, as however many hours you do, you will be an essential role in his life. With his little quirks, he will bring you smiles and laughter, you may consider things that you have never thought about before and I hope you will find the role rewarding. - Assistance with shopping tasks (prompting with this, as the gentleman orders online)

- Assistance helping the gentleman to manage personal relationships, such as helping with communicating his needs and feelings, such as planning how to approach situations, and communicating in positive ways
- Help the gentleman to recognise when to regulate his feelings and energy levels • Escorting to events and outings; (the gentleman has an interest in racing and has a track car), and also assistance during these events, particularly when he is anxious.
He would appreciate support during signing in process, explanation of rules (this would be completed between 7.00am — 9.00am). The personal assistant would be welcome to leave the event after this, or to join as a passenger if they would like to.
