Outward’s Supported Housing Department provide a high quality intensive housing management service that supports our residents to sustain their tenancies. We work with a number of registered housing providers, our principal landlord being Newlon Housing Trust, for whom outward manage properties across in several London Boroughs.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for 1 x full time and 1 x part-time Caretaker to join the central caretaking team.

Requirements
Essential:
· Provide an excellent caretaker service to all Outward customers, ensuring that once works are carried out, the property is left safe, clean and tidy.
· Managing and planning your day to ensure you optimise your time.
· Carrying out regular health and safety checks and tests.
· Carrying out documented property inspections where required.
· To complete all relevant training.
· Providing caretaker support to our old peoples’ services.
· Basic DIY or trade skills (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting)
· Experience using hand tools and light machinery
· Right to work in the UK.
· Clean UK Driving Licence
Staff must have access to a smartphone capable of receiving SMS messages and installing authentication apps for secure systems access [this must be included]

Desirable:
· Previous caretaking or maintenance experience (e.g., in a residential building, or healthcare setting)

The successful applicant will have at least one year’s experience in a similar role and have the ability to carry out maintenance tasks safely and with practical ability, having a can-do attitude towards our residents and colleagues. Because of the requirement to work alone with vulnerable adults, a full DBS check will be completed before a final job offer can be made.

About the Role
Outward’s Older People’s services include a number of self-contained flats used by the London Borough of Hackney as interim accommodation. These homes provide short-term housing for older residents who can no longer remain in their previous accommodation but are yet to be offered a permanent home that meets their changing needs.
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and organised Interim Accommodation Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for providing a housing management service that ensures residents are safe, comfortable, and well-supported throughout their stay, and that they are well-prepared when it’s time to move on.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with Hackney’s teams, including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Brokerage Officers
- Supporting residents at the point of move-in and move-out
- Carrying out risk assessments and regular welfare checks
- Reporting repairs and health & safety concerns
- Coordinating with care providers, families, and other stakeholders to meet residents’ individual needs

Experience and Knowledge
- Experience of providing housing or supported accommodation services to vulnerable individuals
- Experience of managing voids and tenancy processes, including sign-ups, end-of-tenancy checks, and property inspections

- Experience of assessing client needs and working collaboratively with social workers, care providers, and support agencies

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and values-driven Deputy Manager to join our Care & Support services. You will support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, many of whom have moved towards independent living, to achieve greater autonomy, build confidence, and engage fully with their communities.
You will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day running of one or more services, supporting the Team Manager in supervising staff, overseeing rota planning, promoting quality and compliance, and maintaining strong partnerships with families and professionals.
We currently have vacancies at several supported living services across North East London, where we support adults with autism, learning disabilities and PMLD.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the Team Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and support.
- Provide hands-on support, with at least 50% of your working hours directly supporting people.
- Mentor, coach and lead staff through best practice, reflective supervision, and day-to-day operational guidance.
- Support the development and regular review of support and risk plans tailored to individuals’ goals and preferences.
- Provide a robust induction to new staff to include regular 1:1 mentoring, coaching and modelling best practice
- Build effective relationships with family members and stakeholders, advocating for the people we support.
- Support positive behaviour support (PBS) approaches within the team and promote a strengths-based culture.
- Monitor service performance and quality, ensuring services meet or exceed CQC standards.
- Help manage rotas, finances (including petty cash and purchasing), staff inductions and competency assessments.
- Monitor service budgets and work closely with operation team to ensure services are financially viable.
- Be a key player in implementing upcoming digital systems e.g Nourish, Sona etc
- Work closely with Team manager with change implementation for frontline staff as and when required.

- Participate in on-call duties as part of the management rota.

We are looking for people to join our supported living service in Hackney, providing support for autistic young adults and learning disabilities, to transition them into adulthood and independence while living in their own flat.
This is a hands-on role where you will spend your time supporting people with everyday life activities, from developing essential life skills and accessing the community, to personal care and wellbeing.
No previous professional care experience is required. If you have personal experience of care or simply a strong desire to support others, we’ll provide you with training, including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). If you hold a current driving licence, this would be an advantage.
This role includes working evenings, weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis.

Outreach is a community-based service designed to support adults with learning disabilities to maintain or gain independence by supporting people to learn new skills, find new social activities, deal with housing matters, get support around money management, benefit applications and paying bills as well maintaining or achieving a healthy lifestyle. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine direct support responsibilities with service coordination and expanding professional networks with other professionals.
As a Community Outreach Officer, you will play a key role in empowering the people we support to live independent and fulfilling lives. You’ll provide high-quality support, while also coordinating day to day elements of your individual service delivery such as support planning, key working, rota session times. You will work closely with the Deputy or Team Manager and play an active role in ensuring our services are person-centred, well-led, and delivered with Outward’s core values of engage, enable, and empower.

Your Responsibilities
The role of an Outreach Support Worker can vary from a ‘Life Coach’ style of support, to more hands on practical support where some individuals will never be able to achieve independence in certain areas. We signpost, prompt, encourage, challenge and actively assist people to make and reach their goals.
This is not a prescriptive or exhaustive list, and is provided for illustrative purposes only, but the tasks completed by Outreach workers could easily include active assistance with the following:
· Claiming benefits – helps with filling out forms, providing advice, contact with DWP services,
· Budgeting – preparing and monitoring a budget plan / diary
· Employment – encouragement to apply for jobs, assistance with completing CV, application forms, etc.
· Meaningful activities – encouraging the customer to think of options, finding and presenting opportunities, encouraging and monitoring participation
· Identifying and actioning issues around Safeguarding
· Tenancy at risk – help to seek legal advice, contact with landlord to delay / stop legal action, support customer through court process
· Health – promoting a good diet and exercise, linking with GP and specialist services.
· Attending Appointments and providing detailed written feedback afterward
· Household chores, cooking and shopping - prompting and encouraging customer to undertake these chores, skill-sharing and supervision on a limited (and reducing) basis to encourage self-reliance.
· Accessing community resources – accompanying to appointments and activities on a limited (and reducing) basis to encourage self-reliance, signposting and sourcing options. An HRFS worker may find the best way to support on any of the above needs is to refer and support the person to access local services (e.g. CAB, Jobcentre, and GP).
But not normally:
· any aspect of hands-on personal care (Though prompting and encouragement required)
· supervision / prompting of medication on a regular basis.
· solely general social contact / befriending
· holding and distributing customer finances
· formal counselling
· cooking / cleaning for the customer (and with the customer on a limited and reducing basis only)

We are looking for a proactive and passionate Support Coordinator to join our dedicated team supporting adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and complex support requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on support with service coordination and leadership responsibilities, supporting the effective day-to-day running of the service.
As a Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in empowering the people we support to live independent, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. You will provide high-quality, person-centred support while coordinating key aspects of service delivery, including support planning, key working, rota oversight, and staff guidance. Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Team Manager, you will help ensure services are well-organised, safe, and outcomes-focused, and that practice reflects Outward’s core values of engage, enable, and empower.
Your Responsibilities
As a Support Coordinator, you will:
- Provide direct, person-centred support to people we support, promoting independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing in line with individual support plans.
- Coordinate day-to-day service delivery, ensuring support is consistent, well-planned, and responsive to people’s needs.
- Carry out key working responsibilities, including completing and reviewing support plans and risk assessments, supporting outcomes, and maintaining regular communication with families and professionals.
- Lead on shift coordination and rota oversight, including covering shifts when required to maintain safe staffing levels and continuity of care.
- Support staff practice, providing guidance, mentoring, and role-modelling good practice, including active support and positive behaviour approaches.
- Provide line management and supervision to support staff, as delegated, including inductions, supervisions, performance feedback, and development support.
- Carry out routine medication checks, including MAR chart reviews, stock counts, and escalation of medication concerns in line with policy.
- Support financial monitoring, including basic checks of service petty cash, receipts, and people we support’s finances, escalating discrepancies appropriately.
- Report and monitor maintenance issues, liaising with relevant teams to ensure health, safety, and property standards are maintained.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality documentation, including daily records, incident reports, safeguarding logs, and updates on digital care systems.
- Work flexibly across multiple services, including evenings and weekends, to support consistent service delivery.
Requirements
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and/or complex support needs within a supported living or care setting.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management, including recognising concerns, taking immediate action, and escalating appropriately.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a 24-hour supported living environment, including lone working, medication safety, and environmental risks.
- Experience of key working, including contributing to support plans, risk assessments, and outcome-focused reviews.
- Ability to support and guide staff in day-to-day practice, including role modelling good care, supporting shifts, and maintaining professional standards.
- Confidence completing and reviewing medication checks, incident reports, and basic service monitoring tasks.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and using digital systems for care documentation, rotas, and communication.
- -Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with people we support, colleagues, families, and professionals.

Essential Criteria
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management within a supported living setting, particularly when supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and complex health or behavioural presentations.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a 24-hour supported living environment, including lone working, moving and handling, infection prevention, and environmental risks within shared and self-contained accommodation.
- Clear understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection principles, with the ability to manage sensitive information, records, and digital systems appropriately.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and using digital care, medication, and rota systems to support safe and consistent service delivery.
- Ability to work confidently within a multi-disciplinary framework, liaising with families, health professionals, social workers, and internal teams as required.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, support staff practice, and contribute to the smooth running of Desmond Court.
- Commitment to person-centred practice, positive risk-taking, dignity, and promoting independence in line with individual support plans.
