About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active, dynamic, and driven individual to join as a Marketing Executive for the Speciality Cluster, supporting Retail Marketing and Hi- Performance. This is a fabulous opportunity within the business, and we are looking for ambitious, customer focused individuals to come and be part of this amazing team!
This role is liaises with several internal stakeholders; from the marketing and sales team to our Senior Leadership teams – so we are looking for someone who can interact with colleagues of all levels and can manage several deadlines at once. All the digital content marketing is created in house, you will have the chance to be involved with weekly and monthly retail updates to notify our customers of industry and retail landscapes, conducting research for customer meetings and supporting on tender pitches and working on cross-functional special projects. This role creates engaging communications for sites, hosting events for new business opportunities and drafting content for our Cluster Sales Director for our Town Hall meetings.
The role also has scope to create and design marketing material that can be used across the companies’ online platforms, social media and print media, including content for customer presentations.
To be successful in role, you need to be able to understand our product offering in Speciality, our brand guidelines and be comfortable to use to create content, able to manage conflicting priorities and enjoy working in a facet paced environment with different stakeholders.
This is a full time, hybrid role between home and our site in Ely, Cambridge with some travel to sites in Hinckley, Mercia and Paddington as required.

About you
- Understanding of Point of Sale, Industrial products and or the Packaging industry highly desirable but will be interested in those with a background and experience from FMCG industries
- Knowledge around consumer insights desired but not essential
- Ability to create content - both presentations and for online communications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present confidently to senior management
- Able to work independently but also comfortable building strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders around the business
- A positive and can-do attitude
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks at any given time
- Computer literate, especially on Microsoft packages

The DS Smith Production team are a dynamic and skilled mix of professionals who focus on delivering machine products, delivering on operational targets and performance whilst working to delight our customers by showcasing our sustainable and innovative packaging solutions - The Production team are fundamental to our business success, our biggest department and filled with highly skilled, highly experienced individuals!
As a valued team member you will be asked to play a vital role in supporting the Operator in the setting and running of the machines. You will assist in achieving quality standards on all work produced and delighting our customers by producing high quality product, in a timely manner. We work together to ensure that our work is technically correct and the right process has been followed to achieve customer requirements.
Health & Safety is our number one priority and as such an important part of the role will be to work in line with all current policies and procedures to keep yourself and your colleagues safe.
You will report directly to the Shift Managers however will work closely with the Teams on various machines to receive the training you need to become a successful Operator and grow the internal promotions.
