We require an experienced Bank Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Facilitating Trainer to deliver sessions to our NHS partners in the Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes area.
The candidate should already be an Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Facilitating Trainer and are willing to travel to deliver face-to-face training sessions.
Our fully trained team provide excellent support to Facilitating Trainers and Experts with Lived Experience and have been delivering Oliver McGowan Mandatory training for over two years.
You will deliver training at client sites, there will be travel involved, so own transport is essential.
JOB PURPOSE
The post holder will be expected to:
- Deliver learning disability and autism training to people who work in health and social care. This training is called The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
- Have an in-depth understanding of learning disability and autism and are likely to have training experience.
- Lead and support experts with lived experience co-trainers who will be autistic people and people with a learning disability.
- Promote social inclusion and reduce inequalities in health opportunities through training and education.

CORE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The post holder will be expected to:
- Deliver Tier 2 sessions- The sessions will utilise a range of methods, including traditional training delivery, group discussions, and film.
- Help to ensure the effective organisation of training activity which may include confirming co-trainers’ attendance and supporting them with planning travel.
- Actively take part in team meetings, appraisal and supervision.
- Be able to travel anywhere within the BLMK area
- Remain focused during long spells when delivering presentations.
- Role model exemplary behaviour in terms of conduct, attitude and performance, when delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively support experts with lived experience co-trainers, ensuring they are fully included and supported in the delivery of the sessions, helping them to develop skills and confidence.
- Employ learning interventions that are learner centred.
- Appropriately challenge poor practice.
- Work collaboratively with NHS organisations, both nationally and across BLMK and with a wide range of external agencies and organisations.
- Support people to ‘speak up’ so that their thoughts, ideas and concerns are heard.
- Act in ways that support equality and value diversity, treating everyone with dignity and respect and recognising and reporting behaviour that undermines equality and diversity.

Senior Team Leader- LOAF Saturday morning
Part-Time: Saturday mornings during term-time 9:00am-1:30pm

About L.O.A.F
Loads of Autistic Fun (or L.O.A.F. for short) is a Saturday morning activity group which the whole family can attend. It runs fortnightly during term time from 9:45am to 1pm and provides an inclusive environment where all children up to age 12 (those with autism and their siblings) and their parents/carers are welcome and supported by trained staff and volunteers.
About you
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Team Leader to manage and run our Loads of Autistic Fun group in Bedford. The role will include managing a staff team and organising, planning and supervising sessions.
Applicants will need to have relevant experience & qualifications:
- Experience of Health/Education/Social Care Roles.
- Experience of Managing Challenging Behaviour.
- Knowledge of Autism.
- Knowledge of Asperger’s Syndrome.
- GCSEs or Equivalent Qualifications.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic person to help run our evening socials group in Luton and Dunstable.
These groups provide an opportunity for autistic adults to socialise, gain confidence and develop their skills. The group meets regularly and enjoy a range of different activities such as attending the local cinema, bowling, and visiting different restaurants in and around Luton and Dunstable.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will be an approachable person with experience of working with autistic adults, be decisive and quick thinking.
Key Responsibilities:

- Line Management:Adult Skills Tutor and Post Diagnostic Lead
- Planning:Develop and deliver session themes with service users, inform them of upcoming sessions, and integrate new users.
- Health, Safety, and Welfare:Ensure medical and welfare requirements are met, check site safety, report hazards, and implement policies.
- Fire and Emergency Procedures:Adhere to fire and emergency requirements, conduct fire drills, and maintain records.
- Policies and Procedures:Follow Autism Bedfordshire’s policies, promote safeguarding, and maintain confidentiality.
- Administration and Other Duties:Maintain good relationships with venues, ensure premises are clean, and assist with administration tasks.
- Scheduled Activities:Promote social and communication development, ensure risk assessments are completed, and provide feedback.
- Team Leaders:Allocate responsibilities for administration, logistics, and communication.
- Paid Staff and Volunteers:Ensure professional conduct, assign roles, document attendance, and support professional development.
