We are now recruiting a Customs Practice Lead as part of the ongoing development of our advisory practices.
JOB BRIEF
The role will be working within our growing advisory practices business and you will be responsible for leading the growth and delivery of high value advisory and consultancy services to clients, representing the Chartered Institute, delivering thought leadership and expertise at relevant industry and government forums.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main function of this job is to lead the Chartered Institute customs practice directing the customs strategy of the whole business.
The role will require engagement with key stakeholders in the public and private sector, with delivery of solutions internally and in engagement with consultancy firms, technology providers and logistics service providers.
The role holder will also be responsible for delivery of high value trade and customs advisory (consultancy) programme and be seen as one of the UK’s leading experts in their field.
- In conjunction with the Director – Customs Practice to lead and direct the customs practice which is focused on customs, borders and trade.
- Delivery of high value advisory and consultancy to key clients
- Engaging effectively with senior stakeholders in private sector companies, consultancy firms, logistics service providers, government, and trade bodies.
- Delivery of industry presentations and industry papers as a leading trade and customs industry specialist, representing the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade.
- Public speaking engagements on behalf of the Institute at major industry and government events on matters specific to trade and customs, both face to face and through online webinars and podcasts
- To represent the Institute at relevant industry and certain government forums.
- To play a leading role in further developing the Chartered Institute’s strategy and product development in the area of customs and trade.
- Review trade and customs papers from industry, consultancy firms and trade and customs software providers and trade compliance providers.
- Deal with urgent enquiries raised by key stakeholders.
- To act as a National and Regional Champion for the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade, engaging with key stakeholders and identifying opportunities to support and grow the Chartered Institute membership and learning base.
- To remain at the leading edge of trade and customs policy and procedures in the UK and Internationally
- To act as an ambassador for the function and the organisation in terms of diligent and ethical conduct and performance
- To communicate in an articulate, professional, and informed manner across all levels of the business, both internally and externally
- To maintain the integrity of the business through the accurate and timely recording of all relevant data
- Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with a changing environment nationally and globally, and a proactive business function.
DESIRED SKILLS SET AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrable experience in winning and delivering high value advisory engagements
- Experience in delivering thought leadership and actionable advice in public speaking and written content
- The role holder will have proven experience including but not limited to leading industry expertise on customs compliance, customs authorisations and special procedures, customs declarations, origin, classification, valuation and CDS data.
- Specific experience in developing others and in instilling best practice consulting behaviours and processes is of great interest

JOB BRIEF
The role is responsible for the management, configuration, and ongoing enhancement of the organisation’s key business information platforms, and for the strategically critical data integration and dashboards enabled through the presentation layer. The role combines both administrative and development responsibilities, ensuring that the systems and data structures are reliable, compliant, and aligned with organisational needs. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure optimal performance, effective automation, and governance of all Business Information environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage users, roles, permissions, and access controls within Dynamics 365 as a key platform, and coordinate these activities with administrators of other business systems to ensure consistently high-quality data
- Oversee technical environments (development, test, and production), including updates, deployments, and configuration changes.
- Configure and modify forms, views, charts, dashboards, and business rules.
- Build and maintain Power Automate flows and process automations.
- Support process improvement by simplifying or automating manual tasks across teams.
- Manage sandbox testing, validate any partner-delivered changes, and deploy configuration updates to production.
- Maintain data integrity, deduplication, and GDPR compliance across systems.
- Document, version-control, and track all customisations, integrations, and low-code solutions.
- Update and maintain CRM configuration documentation, governance standards, and document templates.
- Collaborate closely with external partner and internal stakeholders to resolve escalations, implement fixes, and manage change requests.
- Provide first and second-line CRM support and deliver user training.
- Monitor system performance, usage, and licensing to ensure optimal operation.
- Enforce best practices in configuration, naming conventions, change management, and documentation discipline.
- Ensure consistency and alignment between D365 configuration, Power Platform solutions, and related systems (e.g. Umbraco CMS).
DESIRED SKILLS SET AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrable experience in D365 Administrator and developer roles.
- Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, including Membership, Sales, and Service modules
- Proficiency with Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Solid understanding of Dataverse structures, tables, relationships, and the D365 security model.
- Experience managing solutions, environments, and deployments across the D365 lifecycle.
- Strong ability to debug, test, and implement workflows, Power Automate flows, and JavaScript handlers.
- Understanding of custom workflows, plugins, and Power Automate dependencies.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into effective CRM configuration or partner briefs.
- Experience in a membership or not-for-profit environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Umbraco CMS is beneficial.
- Strong communication, vendor management, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working within Agile / SCRUM delivery frameworks.
- Highly detail-oriented with a structured approach to troubleshooting, documentation, and governance.
- Self-motivated, resilient and resourceful; able to work independently while maintaining alignment with governance standards.

We are now recruiting a Systems Support Engineer to work in our London office.
JOB BRIEF
The role will be working within Technology Services department and offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on IT services, maintaining and improving our Microsoft 365 environment, as well as be a point of contact for day-to-day IT support, under the direction of the Head of IT Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
User Support: Point of contact for users, delivering high-quality and responsive support, taking ownership of incidents and providing resolution within SLA's.
- Support of Microsoft products including Windows 11, office suite, and enterprise business applications.
- Managing user accounts, groups, mailboxes, roles, permissions, onboarding/offboarding, password resets, MFA setup, and account unlocks
- Device setup and troubleshooting including laptops, mobile phones, printers
- Working with ticketing system, keeping records up to date, documenting actions and solutions
IT Systems Support:
- Supporting M365 environment with a focus on Entra, Intune, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive.
- Carry out improvements to M365 environment to optimise configuration, improve automations and align to best practice.
- Monitoring dashboards for incidents and alerts, escalate cyber security concerns and incidents
- Assist with data recovery, backup restoration, content search requests.
- Create and maintain basic PowerShell scripts for automation and reporting.
- Assist with cloud, infrastructure, end user computing and security projects.
- Identify automation and self-service opportunities to reduce ticket volume.
- Create/update documentation including KBAs, SOPs, asset register
- Maintain good cyber security posture, align with “secure by design” principle when administering systems, implement principle of least privilege when managing permissions
- Promote cyber awareness to safeguard data, systems and assets
DESIRED SKILLS SET AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience in a 2nd line / Systems Support / IT Administrator role, focusing primarily on Microsoft 365. Relevant technical certifications and drive for continuous learning and development.
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong troubleshooting, organisational, and documentation skills.
- M365 admin centre (Exchange, Intune, Entra, SharePoint)
- Excellent Windows OS administration knowledge
- Good knowledge of commands and automation e.g. PowerShell
- Good understanding of working within IT Service management frameworks / Agile environment
- Knowledge of network fundamentals
- Understanding of cloud services and virtualisation
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery
- Exposure to compliance and information security standards, e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials
- Awareness of Power Platform including Dynamics and Power Apps
