Here at Alice House Hospice, Outpatient Services are held in the beautiful Holistic Wellbeing Centre off Holdforth Road.
We are currently seeking volunteer administrators to work in the Holistic Wellbeing Centre to carry out a variety of tasks which could include:
- Answering the telephone
- General reception duties
- Meeting & greeting patients and visitors
- Chatting with patients and helping to make drinks

Retail Volunteer
- Salary: Voluntary
- Hours: Ad Hoc
As a Retail Volunteer in our charity shop, you will be one of the store’s friendly faces who will help us to provide the best customer experience whilst playing an important role in raising funds for our charity work.
Please note – we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.
Key Tasks
- Serving Customers on The Till (Training Provided)
- Greeting and Helping Customers
- Offering and Selling Alice House Hospice Weekly Lottery Tickets
- Donations and Gift Aid – Meet Donors, Receive Donations, Sign Up Donors to Gift Aid
- Sorting, Labelling and Pricing Stock
- Maintaining Shop Displays, Restocking
- Light Cleaning, Tidying Duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented

Volunteer Weekend Ward Clark / Receptionist
We are seeking to appoint a Volunteer Weekend Ward Clark / Receptionist to support the Medical and Nursing Team through the provision of a high-quality administration service within the Inpatient Unit to enable effective and efficient delivery of services in line with the Hospice’s strategic objectives.
Main Duties
- Reception Duties – meeting and greeting visitors, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
- Providing parking passes or signposting to external parking.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries forwarding to relevant team member or taking messages when staff are unavailable.
- General administrative duties (scanning / copying / filing).
- Receipting donations and gifts.
- Adhering to all Hospice Policies and Procedures.
- Attending mandatory training as required.
Desirable Skills & Qualities
- To be able to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Good IT skills including knowledge of the full range of software within Microsoft Office and using the Windows operating systems in a networked environment.
- Experience and knowledge of using administrative equipment i.e. photocopiers, shredder, franking machine, fax machine, and Smartboard.
