Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is recruiting for the position of ‘Supporter Relations Assistant’ to be based from its Waterloo Office, London. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.
To manage IRUK’s switchboard and phone enquiry system and to administer the entry of data on the fundraising database. This will include processing donations, updating supporter details, maintaining supporter records, and ensuring that information held is accurate, appropriate and up to date.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of using databases
- Excellent customer service experience
- Experience of working with sensitive information
- Experience of and passion for, delivering excellent supporter care
- Good levels of computer skills with experience of working with databases and competent in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Fast and accurate data entry skills
- Good standard of numeracy
- Proven administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills by phone, email, and post
- Experience of delivering timely and accurate responses
- Experience of multi-tasking and effectively prioritising workload. Ability to work in a methodical manner with attention to detail
- Must be a team player as well as being able to work on own initiative
- Strong empathy for the aims and work of Islamic Relief
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act/GDPR

IRW’s Finance & Corporate Services Division is recruiting for the position of ‘International Finance Officer (Internal Only)’ to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in Birmingham, UK.
The International Finance Officer will provide key financial support to the International Accountant and Donor Reporting Accountant assisting with financial management, control, reporting, and compliance for Islamic Relief World wide’s Projects, Orphans & Seasonal and related donor-funded programmes.
The role will involve maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, performing reconciliations, monitoring balance sheet control, producing aged creditors and debtors’ reports, and supporting the preparation of internal and donor reports and audit readiness.
This is a developmental role that would suit a candidate studying towards a professional finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA), with strong financial acumen and a commitment to building practical experience within a financial control environment.
The successful candidate must have:
- Degree in Accounting and Finance with A-levels or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CMA); part-qualified candidate’s welcome.
- Strong understanding of basic financial accounting principles and practice
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting and balance sheet control
- Understanding of aged creditors and debtors’ processes and ability to assist in chasing outstanding balances
- Ability to prepare reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts (debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments)
- Good understanding of the financial management lifecycle for projects and grants (desirable)
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems; ERP experience desirable
- Good analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail

The Finance Controller (FC) plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency across the organization’s global operations. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong troubleshooting mindset to resolve financial challenges, drive improvements, and strengthen financial processes.
As a key finance leader, the FC must possess excellent people skills to effectively engage with stakeholders across diverse countries and cultures. The role will lead by example, mentor finance teams, and ensure that financial reporting and controls meet the highest standards.
The successful candidate must have:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAEW, ICMA, CMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in leading the preparation and completion of statutory financial statements, including full supporting notes, in compliance with UK GAAP / Charity SORP and relevant statutory framework.
- Strong experience in financial reporting and control for projects and grants, ideally gained in the NGO/charity sector or similar complex environments, with a strong understanding of Charity Commission requirements, Charity SORP, restricted and unrestricted funds, and reserves management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience in financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of UK Charity SORP, IFRS, and institutional donor regulations (e.g., FCDO, DEC).
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risk.
- Extensive experience in leading and managing finance departments at a senior level, including experience in contributing to organisational change and managing change processes.
- Strong experience preparing for and managing external audits related to grants and projects.
- Advanced Excel and financial system skills, and working experience with ERP systems
- Proven experience in supporting the implementation and rollout of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including contributing to design, testing, adoption, and process improvement
- High computer literacy and adaptability to new systems
- Proven leadership, management, and development experience in a multi-disciplinary finance team.
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, and collaboration skills across teams, senior stakeholders, and donors.
- Excellent communication skills to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and facilitate discussions.
- Experience delivering training and building financial capacity within a team or organisation.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality financial presentations and confidently present complex financial information to diverse audiences, including non-finance stakeholders.

IRW’s International Programme Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Project Manager (Health)’ to join its dynamic team based in South Sudan.
Purpose of the role
The Project Manager (Health) is responsible for overall leadership and management of ’Support for Resilient and Sustainable Health Systems in Tonj North County of Warrap State, South Sudan’’ (SURS) Project, including effective coordination with other actors, timely implementation of project activities and effective response to emerging health needs. Responsibilities include overall implementation of the project’s components including needs identification, new programme development, implementation planning, procurement planning, staff management, project reporting, liaison and support of the county/state on health intervention, and capacity building and training of health staff.
This position will support SMOH in coordination, planning, monitoring, data collection/management and reporting of health activities in project area. In addition, the post holder will actively participate in health Sub-Clusters in project area.
The primary purpose of the position is to provide leadership, programme and financial management support for the health project including management of day-to-day operations of the SURS Project, supervising relevant staff under this project and ensuring targets are met in compliance with donor regulations and ensure that projects are implemented with high quality.
The successful candidate must have:
- Medical doctor or master’s in social science, or other relevant health profession, along with experience of working in primary health care in East Africa.
- Experience in managing health programs.
- Familiarity with the South Sudan BPHNS and National Health Plan.
- Knowledge of donor rules/regulations particularly GAC funded projects.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry including its regulations, policies, procedures, and standards in East Africa.
- Well-honed project management skills and experience in managing large-scale healthcare programmes.
- Budget management and financial skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to represent Islamic Relief and work effectively with a range of stakeholders including government and partner NGOs.
- Work experience in humanitarian emergencies in an International Non–Governmental Organization (INGO) Set-up.

To manage IRUK’s switchboard and phone enquiry system and to administer the entry of data on the fundraising database. This will include processing donations, updating supporter details, maintaining supporter records, and ensuring that information held is accurate, appropriate and up to date.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role

The successful candidate must have:
- A multimedia or video related qualification
- Experience in video and audio production

The role:
As part of the Creative Content team, the role holder is responsible for the effective management, planning, guidance and quality control within the design team, ensuring alignment with brand standards and IRUK strategic goals. They will lead the graphic designers in delivering a wide range of high quality, innovative and expressive online and offline media that reflects IR’s progressive humanitarian work on a national and international level. The role holder will lead and work on developing visually design concepts to industry standards and elevate IRUKs materials and emergency appeal communications; social media graphics, print collateral; events marketing; advocacy campaigns; material about our international programmes; website content, producing publications and occasionally assisting on video production for each campaign.
The Lead Graphic Designer will streamline work processes, line manage and support design staff, and help IRUK deliver consistent, high-quality visual materials. The role involves being creative with a strong technical background in order to produce and coordinate all aspects of design work. The post holder will be able to work to tight deadlines ensuring output to a high-quality standard and in line with IRUK brand guidelines.
The successful candidate must have:
- A qualification or relevant experience in Graphic Design
- Proven experience in graphic design and project management
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand identity, digital and print design, and multi-channel campaigns
- Strong project management and organizational abilities, with experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is actively recruiting for the position of ‘Community Fundraising Officer – North West’ to be based from its office in Manchester. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.
To support the Regional Community Fundraising Manager in fulfilling the organisational objectives of developing and optimising on community fundraising and volunteer initiatives.
The successful candidate must have:
- Experience in project coordination i.e. events and campaigns
- Experience in establishing and developing relationships with key stakeholders
- Experience of organising and supervising events
- Experience of recruiting, managing and developing volunteers
- Experience in motivating and managing volunteers
- Experience in professional fundraising
- Full UK Driving license
- Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community.
- To prioritise and work well under the pressure of a busy environment.
- To take a collaborate approach with a strong sense of teamwork and willingness to work with colleagues cross organisationally in support of wider objectives.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as well as build relationships with people of all backgrounds, levels and settings.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong motivation and empathy towards the aims and objectives of the organisation.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines, prioritising a variety of important and urgent, but diverse tasks.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with high standards of computer literacy including MS office packages.
- Numerical skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc.
- Ability to represent Islamic Relief in a wide range of situations.
- Good understanding of international development and humanitarian work.
- Good understanding of the Fundraising sector, standards, practises and frameworks.

The Junior Mosque Engagement Officer supports their regional team in developing and managing relationships with a network of mosques and community organisations/partners, as well as Mosque committees.
The successful candidate must have:
- Experience and confidence with public speaking and announcements
- Previous experience of community engagement role (particularly with mosques).
- Experience of engaging and working with different levels management within mosques/Islamic Centres/Islamic Organisations (e.g. mosque chair, Imams, and board members).
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel and work outside normal office hours.

- Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to work accurately under pressure and pay attention to detail.

The Junior Mosque Engagement Officer supports their regional team in developing and managing relationships with a network of mosques and community organisations/partners, as well as Mosque committees.

- Experience and confidence with public speaking and announcements
- Previous experience of community engagement role (particularly with mosques).
- Experience of engaging and working with different levels management within mosques/Islamic Centres/Islamic Organisations (e.g. mosque chair, Imams, and board members).

Job Purpose:
• To support the regional fundraising team during peak campaign times campaign periods such as Ramadan
• To undertake the responsibility of regional fundraising initiatives including events, collections, activities and mini campaigns
• To follow daily tasks set by the line manager to support and fulfil the teams work plan
The successful candidate must have:
- Experience of working in a similar role or similar customer focused environment
- Demonstrates experience of, and commitment to, delivering an effective service in support of the organisation’s aims and objectives
- Proven experience of successfully working under pressure, with multiple demands and in a busy environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community
- Well-developed ability to organise events/activities, to agreed deadlines often with conflicting priorities
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team, providing support as required, and build and maintain effective working relationships
- High standard of numeracy skills in accurately entering and recording financial data and other general calculations and working within defined procedures and regulations

The Vacancy

IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for its Disaster Risk Management Department. The department is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to take on the pivotal role of Global Humanitarian Response Lead. This is a full-time, permanent position based in either the UK or IR will consider applicants from countries where Islamic Relief has a country office.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in the delivery of effective and high-quality humanitarian assistance to new and ongoing crises. The postholder will lead a Disaster Response Team response team during any deployment and oversee humanitarian responses projects implemented by local partners in non-Islamic Relief presence countries. Please note, the post holder is expected to spend up to 60% of their time in the field, requiring the unrestricted ability to travel internationally.
The successful candidate must have:
- Knowledge and experience of management and developing a large team of international professional staff in different locations, demonstrating significant and measurable improvement in results
- Knowledge and experience of managing a major crisis requiring sudden and major change in priorities and rapid management action to respond. This includes risk management approaches.
- Knowledge and experience of working successfully with senior managers to deliver major change
- Post graduate degree or equivalent in social economics / development studies / social sciences.
- Skills in advocating to external organisations in order influence policies or priorities and identifying new opportunities for the organisation
- Knowledge and understanding of key trends in international development, and of the evolving role of international NGOs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of using international standards (esp., CHS) to drive quality
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Proven track record of responding to category 1 and category 2 emergency responses with an International NGO in different contexts.
- Demonstrated experience in emergency project management and of managing emergency response programmes in an NGO context.
- Sound understanding and experience of engaging with humanitarian aid architecture
- Knowledge and experience of having worked in one of the following sectors, Education, WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, or Programme Management
- Substantial experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management at regional or global level.
- Experience of writing comprehensive, high quality narrative reports for donors.
- Experience of and commitment to participatory management and maintaining a supportive, open environment to ensure the learning and development of all staff.
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to listen, sensitivity to others’ views and perspectives, and conflict resolution.
- Strong and well-developed analytical skills coupled with experience of writing quality piece of work that are publishable and usable by non-specialists.

IRW’s Treasury team is recruiting for the position of ‘Treasury Analyst’ on a full time, permanent basis to be based out of its offices in Birmingham, UK. The organisation currently operates to a hybrid working model.
Job Purpose:
The role holder will support the Treasury function in providing a first-class service to Islamic Relief Worldwide with a key aspect of the role being developing the way the department produces analysis and uses financial information to support decision making and achievement of the organisation’s strategic objective. Additionally, the role will support the operational aspects within the function.
- Development and production of Treasury Dashboards for supporting the organisation with managing Foreign Exchange (FX) and Banking risks.
- Ownership and management of timely, insightful, and accurate cash flow reporting and currency mapping for Treasury including analysis to provide clear outcomes to support the objectives of the Finance and Corporate Services division.
- Identifying and implementing reporting efficiencies within Treasury, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency projects
- Building relationships to effectively influence and challenge Business decisions, strategy and outcomes.
- Ownership, development and production of the Treasury Reporting Pack.
- Managing controls and processes around report preparation with a view to lead ongoing development and enhancements.
- Supporting the Treasury Operations manager with day-to-day management of treasury operations including oversight of processing payments, both internal and third party, FX confirmation matching, and accurate position determination
- Keep up to date with developments in the charity sector regulatory reporting requirements.
- Provide Management with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
The successful candidate must have:
- Qualified or studying toward a Treasury or Chartered Accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACT, AMCT), accountancy (or equivalent), with specialism in Banking and/or Treasury, not necessary to have it.
- Successful track record of operating under pressure; handling sensitive and confidential information and delivering credible service.
- Practical demonstrable Treasury reporting experience, ideally within a multicurrency treasury, international context
- Experience in an accounting environment with experience of foreign exchange risk mitigation.
- Experience of payment processing, ideally within an international environment
- The ability to operate within a fast-changing environment: with an adaptable, flexible and supportive approach.
- Recommends and implements process improvements; develops and encourages new and Innovative solutions.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Application of strong technical/analytic skills (Excel based) modelling etc.
- Report developing Experience of using Microsoft Power Bi and Unit 4 ERP (desirable).
- Approaches problems and tasks systematically, with an analytical and innovative mindset.
- Strong time management skills, adept at working calmly under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to manipulate large data.
- Good all-round business acumen, analytical and innovative thinking with an understanding of the role of the Finance department in adding value to operational decision making.
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, be self-motivated with high energy.
- Ability to coordinate and provide support to cross functional teams related to banking and treasury matters.
- Sets ambitious and challenging goals and takes responsibility for personal development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to form working relationships at all levels.
- Proven ability to understand and explain complex issues to non-finance & finance specialists.
- Ability to analyse complex information, understand the implications and make clear recommendations.

Job Purpose:
• To support the regional fundraising team during peak campaign times campaign periods such as Ramadan
• To undertake the responsibility of the cake campaign, coordinating the cake campaign initiative, working with local teams, donors and supporters
• To follow daily tasks set by the line manager to support and fulfil the teams work plan
The successful candidate must have:
- Experience of working in a similar role or similar customer focused environment
- Demonstrates experience of, and commitment to, delivering an effective service in support of the organisation’s aims and objectives
- Proven experience of successfully working under pressure, with multiple demands and in a busy environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community
- Well-developed ability to organise events/activities, to agreed deadlines often with conflicting priorities
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team, providing support as required, and build and maintain effective working relationships
- High standard of numeracy skills in accurately entering and recording financial data and other general calculations and working within defined procedures and regulations

The successful candidate must have:

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is recruiting for the position of ‘Supporter Relations Assistant’ (x4) to support with our Ramadan campaign. The role will be offered on a temporary, fixed-term basis for 3 months, based from its Waterloo Office, London. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.
The purpose of the role is to manage IRUK’s switchboard and phone enquiry system and to administer the entry of data on the fundraising database. This will include processing donations, updating supporter details, maintaining supporter records, and ensuring that information held is accurate, appropriate and up to date.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of using databases
- Excellent customer service experience
- Experience of working with sensitive information
- Experience of and passion for, delivering excellent supporter care
- Good levels of computer skills with experience of working with databases and competent in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Fast and accurate data entry skills
- Good standard of numeracy
- Proven administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills by phone, email, and post
- Experience of delivering timely and accurate responses
- Experience of multi-tasking and effectively prioritising workload. Ability to work in a methodical manner with attention to detail

The Vacancy
Humanitarian Academy for Development (HAD) is actively recruiting for the position of L&D Operations Manager to be based from its office in Birmingham, UK. Serving the Humanitarian and International Development Sector and its parent Islamic Relief Worldwide - it collects, coordinates and delivers compelling HAD in action content and messaging around the globe to promote the training, research and talent development services HAD offers to retain existing customers and attract new customers. The Division leverages digital platforms, public relations, events and the media, all in line with HAD’s vision, mission and strategy. It is envisioned to be a hub where humanitarian and development theories and practice are studied, examined and developed.
Job Purpose:
- Lead and oversee the operational delivery of all learning and training activities across IRW through HAD, ensuring high-quality, values-driven learning experiences that meet organisational and sectoral needs.

The successful candidate must have:

The Vacancy
Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters.
IRW’s Internal Audit Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Senior Complaints Administrator’ to join its dynamic team. The role is to be based anywhere globally, where the organisation has a country office.
Role purpose
To provide an oversight to the Head of Audit and Investigations of the complaints environment, insight and reporting duties to inform senior management.
To facilitate the efficient and effective handling of complaints (including whistleblowing) process through receipt, communication, triage and allocation of cases appropriately, manage ongoing concerns raised by complainants and closure of the case. To facilitate the transition to case handlers through activities, meeting arrangements, ‘splitting’ and other activities. To help the complaints administrator resolve cases.
The successful candidate must have:
- A degree in a relevant qualification suited to the wide remit of the role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and laterally, to overcome challenges.
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail to ensure high quality in one’s work.
- Ability to prioritise and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities; proven experience of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and spoken English in particular
- Excellent levels of computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in complaints handling, resolution or customer facing role
- Proven record of excellent people and interpersonal skills with strong communication skills at individual and group levels. This includes ability to engage within a multicultural environment
- Previous experience of working within humanitarian and development (third) sector is an advantage.
- Demonstrates the flexibility and energy that is required for a high level of self-management and awareness
- Substantial experience in managing relationships and challenging situations
- Ability to respond to a dynamic and changing environment.
