Cwm Taf Care and Repair are recruiting a permanent Plumber Handyperson to join our team delivering small works services to clients across Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. The agency is committed to providing an efficient and effective service to older or disabled people. This will enable clients to remain in their own homes in greater comfort and security.

Main Purpose of the Role
- To provide a comprehensive minor plumbing repairs service to Care and Repair clients to enable them to remain at home in greater safety and security.
- To install minor works of adaptation or to complete minor repairs to assist clients home from hospital and prevent re-admission.
- To ensure high quality services are delivered to the satisfaction of clients and organisational values.
Works include but are not limited to the following:
- General Plumbing works, such as WHB/WC repairs, replacing/repairing taps/pipe leaks carrying out associated multi-skilled job tasks such as wall and floor tiling, brick and plaster patching, painting, carpentry etc, to enable the repair job to be completed on the first visit to the property
- Keysafes
- Small ramps and home access
- Minor carpentry works i.e. hanging Doors, replacing kitchen worktops
- Handrails & Grabrails of various types
- Safety in the House i.e. changing locks, security work
- DIY Type Jobs
We are seeking a Plumber Handyperson who will need to be proactive, flexible and self-motivated. Commitment to providing a client orientated service is essential along with the ability to work to timescales.
Use of Company Vehicle to carry out works, Tools, IT Equipment including Mobile Phone or Mobile Allowance, Uniform & PPE provided.
Due to the nature of the post, you will hold a full driving licence and will have a full DBS check. The agency will organise this.

Newport Care & Repair is seeking an inspiring Chair of the Board to provide strong leadership, strategic direction and effective governance for our Board and services across Newport.
Where Does the Voluntary Role Fit In?
As Chair of the Board, you will lead the Care & Repair Board, ensuring effective governance, strong leadership and clear strategic direction. You will work closely with fellow Board Members, the Service Manager and Codi Group colleagues to ensure Newport Care & Repair remains financially sound, well governed and responsive to the needs of older and disabled residents. Operating within the governance framework of Codi Group, the Chair plays a crucial role in balancing local autonomy with strong oversight, accountability and alignment to wider organisational standards.
This is a rewarding opportunity to influence real change in your community while using and developing high-level leadership and governance skills.
What You’ll Do as Chair of the Board
- Lead the Board, setting the tone for effective governance, collaboration and decision-making
- Provide strategic oversight and ensure the Board focuses on long-term impact and sustainability
- Work in partnership with the Service Manager, offering support and constructive challenge
- Ensure robust oversight of financial performance, risk, funding and service delivery
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across governance and service provision
- Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance
- Act as a senior ambassador for Newport Care & Repair, representing the organisation externally
- Facilitate productive Board meetings and ensure all voices are heard
